I hope you didn't take my comment as being directed at you or anyone else in particular. It was just me throwing in my 2¢.
No, not at all. You replied respectfully.

I agree but it doesn't help when people continually shove it down your throat that you are most definitely wrong about your interpretation or understanding because it doesn't line up with this or that commentary and then want to argue about it for the next few years. It switches from "I think that interpretation is wrong because of......" to a blood bath. The motive changes. I don't know if it has always been like this on here or if it has just worsened this year.
When you have supporters who like whatever you post, over time, you are being positively reinforced into such behavior.
I think that was what happened now, that may not have happened in the past.
Pick out the signal from the noise . For example you could actually start believing false systematic theology simple from a book recomendation. I believe that most who are attached to a particular ' ism ' ( no names mentioned ) have done so through outside sources before they read and understood the bible . I speak from experience when I say this.Hey, so I was looking up Bible teachers. Would anyone here recommend a Bible teacher, preferably that have teachings online and also preferably have "through the Bible" studies?
I wouldn't mind, old, long-gone, Bible teachers, who have great commentaries too.
So far, I like and would recommend:
Les Feldick
Chuck Smith
J. Vernon McGee
Dr. David Jeremiah
I haven't read all their works, but so far they seem great, recommend me Bible teachers?
This is why the life of the teacher is so important. If they are purely academic with no power of the Holy Spirit then what good has all their learning accomplished in their lives. I think I would rather emulate a prophet than a scholar but that's just me.Pick out the signal from the noise . The bench mark for me is quickly recognising there theology starting points and influences . Unless we ourselves arrive at conclusions then we are simply giving over our sense making to others . Theirvcharacter and conduct could sway us either way also .This is why the life of the teacher is so important. Of course, even our conclusions, if widely received by others will be in danger of turning into another 'ism'.The bench mark for me is quickly recognising there theology starting points and influences . Lafftur has come up with some serious errors in what she posts also. And the Holy Spirit does not make any such errors.actually, the truly ironic thing is that we should not listen to lafftur either and should reject what she says...
LOL, Nothing like a shameless plug for oneself.Check out www.logostelos.info for many free short articles on Bible Prophecy and related subjects. Scriptures used to explain them.
The end times set out in a logical and coherent manner.
Our destiny and our great privilege to be the people who will see it all!
I get it. You don't put God in a box. I try not to do this too and you are open to what he says to you. That in my opinion is the only way to go. I think people are so afraid of "what not to do" that we miss out on what God is saying. That is why the church is so weak.

It is very rare -- in fact non-existent -- for anyone to frankly and honestly admit that they have made an egregious blunder, and it's time to shape up (or ship out). I guess this goes all the way back to Adam and Eve blaming everyone but themselves for their own disobedience. But Christians should know better.what I find particularly disingenuous is the fact she continues to claim false conclusions by ignoring what some of us post and she did this in the other thread as well
