"Is not the most popular calculation of the Great Tribulation a period of seven years?" NO!!! There is no such a thing as seven years of tribulation written anywhere in the Word of God and I would challenge you to find where in the Bible it actually tells use that "there will be seven years of tribulation" and you will find that a period seven years of tribulation or the wrath of God is nothing more then an assumption with no scripture to back that idea up.
According to the Strongs and the Thayer's Greek English Lexicon #G5482, the word "mark' in Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. The word "mark" is talking about a scratch, or an etching, something that is stamped or graven for the purpose of representing servitude and in this case it would be servitude as in completely subject to the beast.
So anyone who suggests or teaches that the "mark" of the beast is not a literal mark is talking non scriptural garbage and they haven't done the research needed to be properly informed as to what the Word of God is telling and warning us about.
I just saw an advertisement today about how it would be so much better to turn our complete financial system over to cryptocurrency and just the other day the US government seized some accounts with millions worth of cryptocurrency from terrorist groups like Islamic State and al-Qaeda.
Wake up and smell the coffee folks. The mark of the beast will be a tattoo and the currency of the future will be electronic money. No more cash and that is how the beast can control whether or not we can buy or sell. A cashless Society.

You almost had me with you other declarations on dates and the like, but I must go back to waiting to be given understanding as the events roll out.

Read the bold print. The two questions relate to how some are saying we have been in the Great Tribulations for centuries, and I cannot accept this in view of what I have understood .

I always do get sad to see how truly lost this generation is, including most believers like yourself. It won't be long before you all realize I was right regarding the money of today. Then you will regret not believing me when you had the chance to, and honoring the only man that will ever tell you this truth, from a random online forum.

...yet this person has admitted to "buying" with it, himself ("it" being the "false weight" / "paper money" he is referring to). So is that "abominable" (and "deserving of destruction") or not, according to what he has written here ^ ? Just trying to understand the argument/point. I'm having trouble being convinced of it, due to this seeming inconsistency.

Biblically speaking, "the GREAT tribulation" aspect is just the SECOND HALF (the last 1260 days / 3.5 yrs OF the full "7 year" tribulation period / "70th Week" of Daniel). It is this latter HALF of the trib (as a whole) in which the mark of the beast will be implemented, as I understand it. So, for 1260 days / 3.5 yrs, basically.

Threads like this never make any sense nor do they go anywhere. Much like not buying or selling on the Sabbath the electricity,water and other utilities eventually become the issue. I suppose the photos provided by the author of the OP has a method of paying for the satellite dish hanging on the front of the building or the electric lights and water to water the strawberries with.

Maybe there's a way to have an internet service(other than by theft) and be having this dialog with us via their cell phone,lap top devices without paying with fiat money. Maybe there's a way to get the electric company and water company to turn on those utilities without paying for them, If so I would sure like to know about it.

lol, I'm amazed that he posted pictures of his house with lights,water and satellite on a device,(laptop/phone) and thinks that we wouldn't realize that he has to have paid for those services with fiat money that he says is the mark.
