ROMANS 3:25.
Whom God hath set forth to be a 'Propitiation' through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness
for the remission of sins that are (((past))), through the forbearance of God;
5:10.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son,
much more, being reconciled, we 'shall' be saved by His life.

His death is for our 'past-sins' - His Life as our Intercessor is for our sins that we commit,
after 'conversion' -
in the context of
1JOHN 1:9.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
as the Book of HEBREWS clearly states:
He is our (((High-Priest))), having compassion upon us, by sitting on the 'Right-Hand of God',
and (((continually interceding for us.)))...
I think 2 Corinthians 5:19 concerns past sins.

I agree that that Jesus intercession for us is for the sins we commit, but if that is the case then that is a past sin which has been forgiven.

So to me 1 John 1:9 is more of a relationship issue.

We confess (which basically means "God I got this wrong)

Confess in this verse is not the same word to repent but basically say "Yes I sinned got it wrong"
Fess it up. Acknowledge we sinned.

Some biblical scholars believe that this verse and preceding verses was addressed to the Gnostics who had infiltrated the church.

Bill,
we got the point that 'every sin' that we commit and confess is of course 'after' we have done it!
but, this is not the 'context' of ROMANS 3:25.
the context is for 'when we were enemies', that is, in 'the world', and doing everything 'contrary to God's will'...
as it is written:
ROMANS 3:11.
There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God.
HEB. 2:17.
Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren,
that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God,
to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

IF we CONFESS our SINS today, HE is our FAITHFUL HIGH PRIEST, doing HIS job,
and that is to continually RECONCILE (((us))) to His Father by 'forgiving us our sins' -
for, IF we have 'ONE SIN' against us, we 'cannot or ever hope to 'inherit the KINGDOM of GOD'...
(((confession/repentance))) is the TELL of a True Christian' who understands and obeys God's Will'...

So are you saying if do not confess sin it's not forgiven?
Therefore we do not inherit the Kiimgdom of God?

(((YES))
for we would be crucifying Jesus Christ again, AFTER CONVERSION-ENLIGHTENMENT, and
this is (((STRICTLY FORBIDDEN)))...

everyone may take this as they will, but, the Scripture never contradicts Itself...

So I commit 1 sin tomorrow and die before I confess it then I'm in hell?

===========================
ROMANS 8:27.
And He that searches the hearts knows what is The Mind of The Spirit, because He makes intercession
for the saints according to the will of God.
'this Scripture follows the pattern in the OT of 'sins of ignorance' - simply put, they are 'forgiven' when they are brought to the attention of the 'transgressor,
and IF they 'repent' this brings 'forgiveness'...

we Love you Bill, and accept you for you -
there is something in the Law 'excludes sins of ignorance'...
