She has a point though. If you use analogies you need some that explain the thesis of your sermon... not analogies that you have to explain so the audience will know how they explain what you mean.

If not that, then at least a few words at the start to show the audience where you're going with this. "Sin is like garlic ice cream" or something. Then they can actually follow along and see where you're going with this garlic ice cream analogy, instead of being totally lost until the very end.

People like to come to something thinking they know, I get that.
But when we look at something in life as a child it makes us wonder and think.
We see ourselves in it perhaps or we see and think God what could this be?
Not knowing until later is how God often works in our lives.
Its more uncomfortable yes, but it can bring us through something rather then just to it with our opinions at the ready.

There is an old saying. The devil finds work for idle hands that have nothing sensible to post.
And yet you read the entire OP.
If any (woman) man thinketh himself to be religious, while (s)he bridleth not her- his tongue but deceiveth her-his heart, this wo)man’s religion is vain.

When you have nothing important to say, its OK to be quiet. View attachment 219586
You're quite funny there. If this thread is so revolting to you , you have the capacity to leave it and not return. But instead, you levy insults and condemnation. Returning to it again and again. You're mad because you read the entire OP and it turned out not to be what you thought or hoped. Now you're going to do what about that? Oh, we see.

That child is looking at you! Only they appear to be more mature in recognizing the proper response to something they do not like to participate in.

You shouldn't take every bit of advice, but it's a good idea to listen to all of it... instead of just dismissing it out of hand.

For example, I could suggest a few improvements on the analogy, to make it more relatable. But I won't bother, because every time somebody tries to give you advice you always blow it off with an "I know what I'm doing and you haven't the slightest clue how anything in the world works" attitude.

I am only out to please an audience of one, and its not me.
The risk you take in giving unsolicited advice is not being considered a valuable source of such advice.
But then judging or criticizing especially in a public way really has nothing to do with giving "advice" rather that is just the mask it wears.
You experience people and you come away knowing what tends to come out.
If it is out of love or not becomes clear after a time.
