Great thoughts
@Roughsoul1991 I honestly hadn't ever really thought seriously about communism because of the persecution of the church in China and elsewhere.
Do you believe it is possible for this system to be recreated in a closed community in the U.S? If Christ is indeed for communal living, could there be a responsible application of this system?
My issue is none of the world systems we see today (with mayyyybe an exception here or there) are in alignment by choice with the will of the Lord.
However, in the U.S and even with the way international laws work, it is possible to legally exist nearly autonomously. Consider how the Quakers were allowed to be pacifists in the 1700s (apparently)...are there groups that the government leaves alone? It would still be necessary to operate within the law but the law has a good deal of wiggle room if one is committed. Consider Native American autonomy. It appears to be similar to a young teenager being subject to a parent's autonomy in a way but
still it exist with a different legal code as does the military but that's a different topic
There are
plenty of people against totalitarian measures concerning global warming. I rest easy on that myself. Usually there is some good sense in anything that would violate liberties (masks, driving laws, littering, emissions, etc.) but these positives are used unscrupulously to legislate. Sort of like an angel of light telling the truth with omissions and a cast
(slant) to the proffered "truth". Quite possibly entirely useless in the larger picture.
So I find that understanding the reasons for legislation now is more important than whether you agree or disagree with it...at some point, knowing another's position that is opposed to yours in a civil manner is quite useful if they are sincere. It can niggle a bit though and some people shouldn't be listened to at all probably.
Anyway...ty for something on topic.
