I saw a woman once across a crowded room.
It was at a university hosted event so lots of young ladies all about but none made me even look twice.
But there was this one woman about ten years older then most of the rest of the crowd.
She had such a peace about her, such a quietness I could hear it all the way across the noisy room,
It literally stopped me in mid sentence, i could not remember what I was talking about anymore.
I said just as much to the group of men I was talking with and excused myself and headed right for her.
Then just a few feet away some guy comes out of nowhere and intercepts me grabbing onto me and talking about spiritual sounding stuff.
I should have just been rude and pushed him aside.
That spiritual peace, that quietness of Spirit like someone at rest in your arms all the time.
That is the perfect beauty for me.
If that's what you got going on ladies I want to know you.

My first marriage (1978) lasted 6 1/2 horrible years. **it happens. Quite a few divorced peeps on this site and each one has their own horror story.

My relationship was actually 6.5 years! Marriage little under 4. Mine was....horrific. I mean, Lifetime movie horrific. Nearly killed me. Now I can't even be alone in a room with a man. Can't date.
You were obviously traumatized by the whole ordeal. After my divorce I dated a couple times but then decided I was wasting my time and decided to remain alone and celibate (18 years). Finally the loneliness got to me so I prayed about it and met a nice Christian woman online in an AOL Romance Christian chat site. I flew from Florida to Maine and brought her back with me. That was in 2002. She died prematurely in 2014 at the age of 59 (same as mine). Shortly after I joined CC I met a wonderful Christian woman who is also a member and the same age that I was. We got married in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving Day in 2014. Still happily married and we will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary in November 27. She will be my last wife. I will be her last husband.

Yes....traumatized beyond words. So happy for you. Sorry about the first marriage and the loss of your second wife.

Took me 10 years to recover.
I ended up dating a few different kinds of crazy and now I am content to stay as i am unless if find what I want.
I would hope that we would be an active team together in God's service. And then able to relax and just enjoy being together.
Goodness...what a question!
I was married. I had all kinds of ideals, expectations and dreams! then reality hit! Wow! I went places (spiritually, emotionally, etc) i thought I'd never go. It was not easy at times, even hated it at times, but God is Great and Amazing! Those hard times have taught me so much! I am grateful for them, although I didn't necessarily like them.
And there were good times too. There is something to be said about sticking together through hard times and seeing how it changes us and grows us and how love can be strengthened and matured!
I honestly don't know what it would be like. I would like for my guy to understand I need time to think, you can't just talk to person for 20 minutes and decide you're in love, or first time talking online, to try to meet up in real life to eat dinner together. I would like for us to do nerd stuff together like watch anime, play videogames, watch movies, watch YouTube, go shopping at the mall (Maybe he can help me with clothes, lol 
), and go to conventions. Also, it would be cool to go to parks to do some hiking, not extreme, just moderate stuff. But most important, I want them to understand how much Christianity matters to me, I don't want someone to become christian just to be with me (Cause I'm pretty sure that was about to happen with one guy I was talking to, and it just didn't feel right, I dunno God made us as beings that naturally seek him), and it would be easy if they are already christian, makes all problems easy to go through,what I mean is that they know my stance on issues like homosexuality. Like sadly I'm part of the "Millennials", and I think most people around my age or younger wouldn't like my stance as a christian. I know everyone is not the same, but there is a reason why "Millennials" is considered a stereotype nowadays, a especially bad one at that.
I know marriage will not be easy, as my parents are divorced and I hear issues happen, even if it's between boyfriends and girlfriends, but for now I just want God to guide me. If I get a boyfriend then that's cool, but if I don't that's cool too, that's how I'm trying to live life right now.

I was married once also. It ended like a plane crash, and was full of turbulence along the way. I will never, ever, ever "fly" again. So I can relate to the hard times, and reality haha.
That's good attitude to begin with. Leaving work early to spend time with your wife
I was thinking I wouldnt want anyone to subject to my mother as in-law. sadly. Honestly dont know how that would ever work.
Two people I know getting married,, one both parents are dead, (not sure about her fiance) the other, the mother is still alive and her fiances parents live in another country.
Most people that get married run into trouble with their parents or in laws sooner or later. Whether they are absent or present..but I think its much easier if they are not present to interfere.
