God placed this power in the living resurrected Jesus Christ when He raised him from the dead. The verses I am going to list from Romans and Ephesians, are very clear in telling us that God has appointed the Christ to be the head over all things to the church, who is sitting on the right hand of God, with all rule, authority, and power. To understand our legal rights that we have as children of God, belonging to the family of God, we will need to understand the power that Jesus Christ has in the church. What a wonderful day it will be in our lives when we accept the accomplished work of Christ Jesus and understand our relationship as joint heirs with him.
This God-given ability to understand our relationship as joint heirs with Christ belongs to us because God has given us a new realm to live in through the reality of the Christ within us. The power is in the living resurrected Jesus Christ because God established the identity of His Son, and God wants us to know the greatness of His power and to understand He has made us completely complete in His Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Christ because God has given this position to him when He raised him out from among the dead into the glorious position he now has. We as Christians are to function within his name, the name of Jesus Christ, within his authority, his reign, and his concerns.
We must understand this is the gospel of Christ, and we need to function within his reign as Christians. It's his gospel, his church, and he is the head, the boss. Look at the following verses very carefully. “Paul a servant” of who? How do “I thank my God”? “through” who? “the spirit of life in” who? And of course my all time favorite “the love of God which is in” who? Jesus Christ is listed like this all throughout the epistles, but just to save time and space I have only listed a few from the book of Romans and Ephesians.
Romans:
1:1.... Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ
1:6.... ye also the called of Jesus Christ
1:8.... I thank my God through Jesus Christ
1:9.... I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his son
1:16... gospel of Christ
2:16... God shall judge by Jesus Christ
3:24... redemption that is in Christ Jesus
5:1.... peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
5:11... joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ
6:11... alive unto God through Jesus Christ
6:23... eternal life through Jesus Christ
7:25... I thank God through Jesus Christ
8:1.... no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus
8:2.... law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
8:39... love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
Ephesians:
1:1.... Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ
1:5.... adoption of children by Jesus Christ
2:7.... toward us through Christ Jesus
2:10... created in Christ Jesus
2:13... But now in Christ Jesus
3:1.... I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ
3:11... which he purposed in Christ Jesus
3:21... glory in the church by Christ Jesus
4:12... body of Christ
5:5..... kingdom of Christ
When we look at those little words “through, of, by, and in” we will see that the power of God is in the Christ because that is where God put it. We are going to have to build and maintain a relationship with the Son if we are looking to have signs, miracles, and wonders work in our lives. As the called out of God, we must realize who we are in Christ, and that the life we have in Christ means more than mere existence; it means life in all of its manifestations. Let’s enjoy that walk of deliverance, that walk of the beauty of the divine presence of God.
