11: Do you believe the OT Law was nailed to the cross and thus made void at the death of Jesus
  1. um no; the OT is a lot more than the law given through Moses.
whoops! sorry; i misread the question - i thought it just said '. . the OT nailed to cross . . '
yes Christ nailed the law of the Sinai covenant to the cross with His body.

Hello fellow believers. Being new here, I wanted to get to know the members and one way of doing that is to get a general consensus on what we all believe. It is just a tool for taking a sample of views from a group of believers to identify where we agree on the basic tenets of the Christian faith.

So, me thinks you should answer all 20 questions..........FIRST,

I'm also wondering why we should be required to justify ourselves as believers to you?

IF you want to "know" the believers here, I suggest you delve into the various Threads on the various Forum Pages, and read the various comments...........

After all, we have zero idea who you are.........you can say whatever you want about who you are, or for what reason you want so much information.......as can ANYONE who joins this Site, so, why exactly, should we bare our souls to you????

Just pointing out that your "request" goes well beyond what any person here should have to provide to any other member here.
The new member should absolutely answer all 20 questions....FIRST. I agree completely with your estimate.

well to be honest, I find it a bit of a stretch to post those questions and now supply answers that indicate you are possibly a Sabbath keeper.
there are an infinite number of sets of 20 questions. tbh the ones she chose -- i infered from the OP she is SDA or an Judaized offshoot, before i began to reply -- and as i'm writing this, i haven't read any of the rest of the thread yet except your reply that caught me eye. the questions she chose describe an agenda in her thinking.

==================================
this is just a common question a member is asking, not an accusation...
yes it's a very important question. if i were coming up with 20 questions it would have been one of the first things i would put

@Batyah why isn't it one of the questions in your poll?

Don't believe that too many members are going to actually answer all of those questions.

The best way to learn who the players are is to become a frequent regular contributor. This will provide ample opportunity to see who the members are and what they are about.

One thing you ought to know and that is that most members are very savvy on the bible and the understanding of scripture. I could probably answer 15 of those questions right off the top of my head but chose not to waste my precious time. It does appear that you are attempting to bait the members as a means to possibly show what you believe to be superior biblical knowledge and spiritual wisdom. If I'm wrong then answer all of the questions first.

BTW, those are very easy questions to answer. The BDF is not kindergarten and we are not your students.

Welcome to CC.

well to be honest, I find it a bit of a stretch to post those questions and now supply answers that indicate you are possibly a Sabbath keeper. I mean you know most Christians do not follow beliefs as you do, right?

So it seems you would like to find other Sabbath keepers or those who tend to follow Jewish rather than Christian custom and practices

looking at your responses to your own questions, it seems you asked specific questions related to your beliefs. they certainly are not general questions

sounds a little ominous
Would have been a lot easier and shorter if they simply asked who else was sharing in (I am making a guess) SDA/HRM/??? beliefs and who isn't... Imo the intro post is a psychological ploy to make people subject to their theological authority by the very answering to the survey.

You have discerned this correctly, and most Christians should have seen through the ploy.

This comes across as hostile as if this person was offended. Being offended usually comes from a place of pride, but I am merely gauging by his reaction. I will reiterate what I posted in response. I am not asking anyone to bear their souls, I am asking basic questions on Bible knowledge and beliefs. Every Christian should know what he/she believes, right? Are we not here to discuss what we believe?
Is it too much to ask that believers are able to know and claim what they believe?
Since we are only acquainted online, all of us, and have no knowledge of how others live their lives and cannot see what fruits they bear, we can only discern from someone's words where their heart is.

Thank you for your input. I gleaned way more today than if you had answered each question.

I bid you goodday

Believe me PR was not the least bit offended. He was not hostile either but rather telling you how it is.

Yes, we are here to discuss what we believe so why don't you start first and state what you believe.

I fully agree with your estimate. The OP is definitely a ploy as part of some kind of head game.

Please!! don't answer questions by taking up all my computer space with those canned pictures.
The ONLY way her beautiful creations would "take up space" on your 'puter is IF you are copy/pasting all the responses to your 'puter...........otherwise, the space they take up are restricted to Christian Chats Website......

I didn't tell you what my views are.

nor did I tell you that you cannot express your views

you chose to present those views in a certain way and you made that very plain
you told me to interact with people.
this is me interacting.

peace

okay. more clear now.
question - what does that mean to you? what happens to the commandments God wrote with His finger in stone?
are they void? do we obey them? do we only use them as a guide and it doesn't matter if we break them 'cause we're under grace now so the blood of Christ covers our screw-ups? I just wanna be clear on what mainstream Christianity believes in how to treat God's Laws.
Not trying to argue or create rifts, just merely wishing to understand other's views and how they approach interpreting the verse in Colossians (2.14) about the decrees against us being nailed to the cross. It does not refer to the entire law being wiped out but the death sentence (decree against us) being wiped out.

thanks again for any input. I really enjoyed reading your responses. very very enlightening and I found myself in unison of thought on a few subjects as well.

have a great day

PLOY?

you guys are paranoid.

"she shoulda, coulda done it this way or that way..."

by the way....I'm not looking for others who believe exactly like me. I'm looking to interact with mainstream Christians to discuss the Word of God and perhaps find things we AGREE upon. The survey was enlightening. Some of you answered honestly and some of you found offense in the mere posing of the questions or the way in which I presented them or myself. My apologies for not living up to your standards of proper etiquette or behavior.

I'm NOT SDA nor would I ever even visit one of their services. The same goes for JWs. the same goes for catholicism and just about all the protestant churches my mother wishes to invite me to.
I am merely a daughter of the Living Almighty Sovereign Lord and Creator of the Universe, who loves God and loves His law.
His Word is a lamp unto my feet.
I am a Christian who follows the teachings of the God of Israel as outlined in His Holy Scriptures. All of them, not just ones
that support the theology of any man-made religion or doctrine.

peace ya'll
