Most people running a business do not think it is naturally ok to commit fraud. It is sad that people have such a world view of our hospitals and businesses as being majority fraudulent as a corporate culture.
It would not come naturally to put a person on a ventilator who did not need it so you can bill for it. It would not naturally be ignored by the tens of thousands of employees who would be a party to it and not blow the whistle. None of these conspiracy ideas work out when you actually work in a hospital and see the technical details.
No, when you think about it, getting paid for costs that you incur treating severely sick covid patients which is AUDITED is not an incentive to lie to AUDITORS and bill for services and costs that you really did not incur and have your business fined, lose your job and ruin your career chances of every administering another hospital again. Especially if your not the one that would get the benefit of the fraudulent billing. Most of us understand the danger involved in attempting insurance fraud and the difficulty in trying to get away with it, and the vast resourses that insurance companies commit to exposing fraud. Therefore this should help you understand the complexity behind hospital billing and the checks and balances that are in place to prevent fraud.
What comes naturally is to think that a Hospital can say COVID and that the government sends them money without billing or audits. People think it is simple like that because they lack knowledge. It is not that simple. Once you understand the auditing departments, both Internal audit, and External audits, and the departments within the hospitals and corporations called governance risk and compliance you will understand how 90% of conspiracy theories are not technically possible. And you will fill a little foolish, like having egg on your face from your morning breakfast for ever suggesting the theory. But we learn from it and try to do better next time if we want to be considered wise and mature.

The two reports out this week, one on the mRNA Moderna Vaccine and the other one I forget the name of right now, had great results producing immunity response in all patients tested. Now the 40,000 test proceeds and How long the immunity lasts we will have to wait and see. What I am saying is that the testing for these two are such that THERE IS EVERY REASON to expect them to work. They don't have to work for a lifetime to be effective in solving this crisis. I don't have time to check your flu vaccine facts right now but my guess is that they are more effective than 50%. A simple search at the CDC site should yield the correct information.

New York health officials were warned in writing that a Brooklyn nursing home where 55 patients have died of coronavirus was overwhelmed — weeks before it began topping the state’s official list of resident COVID-19 deaths, damning emails show.
Cobble Hill Health Center CEO Donny Tuchman sent a desperate email to state Health Department officials on April 9, asking if there was “a way for us to send our suspected covid patients” to the hospital built inside the Javits Convention Center or the US Naval hospital ship Comfort — the under-utilized federal medical facilities on Manhattan’s West Side.
“We don’t have the ability to cohort right now based on staffing and we really want to protect our other patients,” Tuchman wrote in a chain of the emails reviewed by The Post.

oh yeah? my husband and I were hit broadside by some dude and I had xrays. to the tune of 7000.oo K. half of them were not even the place that was hurting. the administrator of the hospital visited me and chatted me up while I was waiting for the results. of course the insurance did not end up paying that much, but 7000.00 not fraud? where I come from that is fraud.

A vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is perhaps the best hope for ending the pandemic. Currently, there is no vaccine to prevent infection with the COVID-19 virus, but researchers are racing to create one.
Coronavirus vaccine research
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause illnesses such as the common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). COVID-19 is caused by a virus that's closely related to the one that causes SARS. For this reason, scientists named the new virus SARS-CoV-2.
While vaccine development can take years, researchers aren't starting from scratch to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. Past research on SARS and MERS vaccines has identified potential approaches.
Coronaviruses have a spike-like structure on their surface called an S protein. (The spikes create the corona-like, or crown-like, appearance that gives the viruses their name.) The S protein attaches to the surface of human cells. A vaccine that targets this protein would prevent it from binding to human cells and stop the virus from reproducing.
Coronavirus vaccine challenges
Past research on vaccines for coronaviruses has also identified some challenges to developing a COVID-19 vaccine, including:
- Ensuring vaccine safety. Several vaccines for SARS have been tested in animals. Most of the vaccines improved the animals' survival but didn't prevent infection. Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding and other household items if you're sick. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces daily.
- Stay home if you're sick. If you aren't feeling well, stay home unless you're going to get medical care. Avoid going to work, school and public areas and don't take public transportation.
