Yes they Could but they will not. If they would it would have been built already. Remember they are a traditional and religious people who live by their history and traditions. It is part of their blindness and why they rejected christ
They're blind and can't see that the temple of God is the body of believers so the Jews physical temple will have nothing to do with prophecy, it's just something they're doing out of blindness.

Yet it is all over prophecy

prophecy is foretelling what will happen.

and it says They in blindness will rebuild a temple. And that temple will be defiled, and in the end, Jesus himself will return and rule from that temple.

The real temple of God is found all over prophecy but a future blasphemous building built by unbelieving Jews that hate God isn't found anywhere in scripture.

Below is the real temple of God.

(2Th 2:4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

yeah actually it is, but if you can not find it, I will not not attack or belittle you for it

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of [b]sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits [c]as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

yep, that’s the temple we are dis using the one which will be built in the city of david, as prophesied

How do you figure the temple of God is a building built with mans hands?

Did or did not Jesus call the temple which was standing. The temple where he overthrew the money changers the house of God or his fathers house?

Yes he did call that foreshadow of the real temple, the temple of God. Jesus called it the temple of God before the real temple of God came. When Christ died and rose again, the real temple of God came.

That old temple was, and is, no longer the temple of God because God now dwells within the hearts of men.... the temple of God.

In Jesus' first coming much of what he did was establishing a spiritual kingdom rather than a physical kingdom. So the disciples thought of the physical Temple when Jesus was talking of the Temple of His body. But it may be different (I think) in the second coming.

In Acts 1:6,7 we see this:
6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

The disciples are still thinking a physical Kingdom and ask when this will be? Jesus answers only by saying that this is in the Fathers' timing and plan. I think it is coming yet, and part of that will clearly be a Third Temple built in Jerusalem . . .

It came when Jesus rose. His kingdom comes without observance.

I think you missed part of what I trying to say. Jesus called that temple the temple of God because it WAS the temple of God. It is NO LONGER the temple of God, a temple built with hands is just another building.

So you believe God's kingdom is today with literal Israel? It came "after he rose"?
No I don't believe the kingdom of God is in that dump called Israel. God was done with Israel at the cross. The kingdom of God is not of this world, it's a spiritual kingdom. For us the kingdom of God is within us until we're taken to heaven.

So the disciples asked about the physical kingdom of Israel: and in His answer in Acts 1:7 Jesus does not correct them?

But anyway, OK, you may have your view.

I completely agree that for us today as believers we live in and operate out of a spiritual kingdom of God. But I believe that God also has a plan/place for his people of Israel. The nation of Israel is not the equivalent of the church - my opinion :D

the rest that you added there about a spiritual temple has no bearing on the question

The bible says that God was finished with Israel forever when the summer fruit was gathered.

(Amo 8:1) Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.
(Amo 8:2) And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

And I agree, Israel is not equivalent to the church.

Yeah there is no biblical requirement that the temple be built in a specific place, the Jews can and could've built the temple at any time they wanted.

Now you are acting like the young Saul.

Acts 9:5 (KJV)
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

GOD CHOSE THE LOCATION OF DAVID's SACRIFICE ALTAR FOR HIS TABERNACLE, And GOD DOES NOT CHANGE.

Malachi 3:6 (KJV)
6 For I am the LORD, I change not;
therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

1 Chronicles 21:18-26 (ASV)
18 Then the angel of Jehovah commanded Gad {the Prophet of the King} to say to David, that David should go up, and rear {erect} an altar unto Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
19 And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of Jehovah.
20 And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons that were with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21 And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing-floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
22 Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place of this threshing-floor, that I may build thereon an altar unto Jehovah: for the full price shalt thou give it me, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
23 And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen for burnt-offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal-offering; I give it all.
24 And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for Jehovah, nor offer a burnt-offering without cost.
25 So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.
26 And David built there an altar unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and called upon Jehovah;
and He answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt-offering.

1 Chronicles 22:1 (KJV)
1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

1 Chronicles 22:10 (KJV)
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

Deuteronomy 16:16 (KJV)
16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which He shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

2 Chronicles 3:1 (KJV)
1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Ok lets try this a different way. How can the temple of God in 2Th_2:3 be a building built by hands when the temple of God is no longer a physical building built by hands?

I'm simply asking you where does the bible say that all temples have to be built on top of the last temple.
