Hmm. So God who possesses all knowledge had to white out some names in a book He got wrong. It needed a bit of editing, he wasn't sure who would be chosen and who wouldn't.

He then doesn't do all things perfectly.

You may need to rethink that.

It is figurative language making a point, it isn't God editing the Book of Life. :)
You do realize you're arguing the Scripture and not someone's personal thoughts?
Picture language or not, what is so figurative about the notion of God extending grace to all, and then getting angry at the tramplers of grace?
Similar thing happens in Christ's parable of inviting people to a wedding feast. In the beginning there was a "list" of wedding guests, God called His people and priests first to celebrate with Him, but since they paid Him no mind, then their names were crossed out and others called who were not the first to come into mind (Gentiles, whores, tax collectors). This wasn't an unforeseen surprise for God, so cynicism is uncalled for, it simply illustrates the chain of order and causality and God's intents.

He certainly did not get wrong. God intended all human beings to receive eternal life, hence all names were written in the Book of Life.

And that is why the Tree of Life was in the Garden of Eden. Since Adam forfeited access to that tree, God had already planned to have the last Adam (Christ) bring the gift of eternal life to all mankind (through His finished work of redemption). And that is the reason for the Gospel, and for Romans 6:23.

But those who reject the Gospel, reject Christ, and persist in their wickedness are indeed blotted out of the Book of Life. Therefore Christ says that He will NOT blot out the names of the overcomers: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Rev 3:5)

When the books are opened at the Great White Throne Judgment, the Book of Life is also opened. And those who are not found in the Book of Life are cast into the Lake of Fire. But God is not willing that any should perish, hence the Gospel must be preached "to every creature" (Mk 16:15,16). The Bible says that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.

Moses knew that his name was in the Book of Life. But he was willing to have it blotted out of that book so that his Israelite brethren would be saved from Hell: Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy Book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my Book. (Exod 32:32,33)

Of course I'm arguing Scripture. God isn't literally editing the Book of Life. ;)

Category error, never stated.

Next.

Except for the fact nowhere in that parable were names crossed off, nor was there a literal list, you're adding to the word and aren't handling parables correctly.

God didn't edit the Book of Life, and he didn't cross off names invited to the wedding feast. That's just plain silly.

You're making the classic mistake of reading things into the text and missing the main point. :)

That and your hermeneutics are way off my friend.

I never said there was a literal list...
I said that you are the one who is taking it literally and then being cynical about it.
I literally explained in my post that these things illustrate God's intents and causality of events. Just because something is recounted in picture language doesn't deny the existing causality behind it.
Even though there is no literal, earthly "book" for "editing", this fairly illustrates for us that God extended the offer of eternal life to more people that actually enter eternal life. (And there are multiple scriptures to argue that God extended His offer to all men.)

Lolzzzz...

Actually I argued against it being literal thus argued for it being figurative.

Oh, looky, here it is in my own words:

IMAGINE, real evidence that shows you're incorrect. I said: "It is figurative language making a point, it isn't God editing the Book of Life."

Hmmmm.

So, why not try reading what I actually said and leave off the false accusations? I'd appreciate that.

You're the one who came up with a list and God crossing off names, so I went by what you said, which means I paid attention to your very words.

But do show where I argued it was literal.

I'll be waiting.:)

You keep deflecting the point, @Nehemiah6 gave a point from Scripture that I agreed with, you never actually addressed the point but keep going off tangent. Like I said:

The reason there are cults, false churches, false gospels.....because people reject the inspired word of God....
Not so.

It's because of this:

For you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Corinthians 3:3).

They carry the Bible around in carnality; they don't reject it at all.

Romans 10:9-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved."

When taking all of the other scriptures, the promise that "if you confess with your mouth, etc." must then be speaking to those whose names that were written in the book of life before the world began, who were predestined.

Before the world began, God had all of the names throughout all of history of whom He chose and had them written in His book of life. When any of these people hear the word of God, the Spirit confirms the truth and God draws them to His Son and they respond in faith.

Those whose names were not written in the book of life before the world began, when they hear they will not come because God is not going to draw them to His Son.

"For God so loved the world (those whom He predestined) that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Now that you have quoted these passages, you will need to properly interpret them in the light of ALL GOSPEL TRUTH and Bible truth. So go ahead and put everything in context. But you would need to start here:

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (Isa 45:22)

JOHN CALVIN'S COMMENTS
22. Look unto me. Hitherto he addressed the Jews alone, as if to them alone salvation belonged, but now he extends his discourse farther. He invites the whole world to the hope of salvation, and at the same time brings a charge of ingratitude against all the nations, who, being devoted to their errors, purposely avoided, as it were, the light of life; for what could be more base than to reject deliberately their own salvation? He therefore commands all "to look to him," and to the precept adds a promise, which gives it greater weight, and confirms it more than if he had made use of a bare command.

Regardless of any faults, Calvin was honest with his expositions.

You can have your sins blotted out, or you can have your name blotted out. It’s man’s choice, not God’s.

Calvin is dead.

Yes all the ends of the earth not just Jerusalem used to represent the bride of Christ not seen, the new Jerusalem.

He invites the whole world to the hope of salvation not one nation. When the reformation came it destroyed the idea that God was the God of the Jew according to the corrupted flesh of a outward Jew.

They are simply used to represent mankind .Could used a German in the same way or Irish American Indian or the and color of the rainbow. The reformation came the time of promise of Joel. It put a end to "eulogizing the flesh of corrupted mankind .Satan then fell not having the lying power to deceive all the nations after that manner.

Eulogizing the flesh of corrupted mankind is another gospel
