That's great. Glad you are doing something you enjoy. What title do you think is your best project so far?
Well I dont do video games I make card games. I haven't gotten anywhere really with it. My last game failed to gain ground but it makes sense the more I look back. Hopefully one day I will be part of something successful.

Just trust God and HIS direction, that will always be successful.

What type of card games, like D & D?

Well it uses alot of dice but it's not really. It's a game about monsters. I'm currently writing the book that goes with it. I like to establish lore so I usually have a book or two for it. My last game I wrote four books for.

That is really creative. Monsters are the last thing I want to think about right now, but what is the strongest monster in your card game?

rn I'm trying balance it. You have a team of 4 monsters with 1 leader. Theres a dice for attacking and defending. Rn I'm working on artwork I will hopefully finish my second deck soon. But it still needs tweaking and I need draw alot more lol

TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ: you're supposed to master supernatural divine "source" power that's stronger than magic, and as you become strong enough to fight evil alien creatures from the void, you fight your way through the "power is dangerous" establishment. Here's my review if you want it, I did not finish the game but I am halfway through it. POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT.

----------------------------------------

I am disappointed with the main storyline, it can't get more stereotypical. The writer is talented, but in a lot of places they are being long winded and embellishing too much. That being said, there is still some quality writing. If you are the type of person that reads up all books of the shelves in the game, you will probably like it.

Great turn based dynamic combat system. Unexpectedly exciting and cool, 10/10 in that regard.

Interesting crafting system, with some cool ideas, you collect books as you go and slowly acquire recipes and I don't think nearly all is in books, some of it you figure out yourself (no losing ingredients, you can keep trying out whatever you like), but mostly it's not intuitive. If you don't want to miss things, you are best off looking things up online. Which is spoiler-ish.

They made dialogues harder if you don't have enough Persuasion and fail once, you can't try again when you boost it, and you often can't usually exit the conversation halfway. So that was frustrating, and after a while made me not care in the area that is normally highly interesting for me.

Since we've talking gaming and violence... In some aspects the game gets inane. They tried to counter the story cliches by a lot of NPCs being smarty-pants to you in conversation. This is refreshing when dosed properly. But when it came down to just even rats or squirrels (you can talk with animals) being smug and running their mouth, I just didn't care about reading dialogues any more. Like dude, what's up with all these smarty-pants animals? From that point on, I changed policy and whomever I disliked only slightly was going down, leaving only a few innocent people alive . I've never ever plunged through an RPG with this attitude.

People talk about violence and video games, but do we talk about opportunity for self inquiry. I've always had this internal struggle between being gentle and firm, meek and assertive, and I can never find a good balance, which frustrates me, and this is twice harder being a Christian. When I deal with real people, this can be stressful for me, I always worry about my conduct. I normally choose to err on the side of kind and meek in fear of stumbling in arrogance or impulsiveness. Then I stress about probably not being truthful or assertive enough. This has actually been on my mind a lot lately. Which is why I reacted like that, and it was a bit therapeutic to express what I don't like, instead of always shutting it in. So anyway. Back to the review. :)

You can't really reinvent the wheel when it comes to fantasy fiction, and obviously some people in every fantasy realm will be pagan and differ in beliefs, but this game really went overboard with how fanatic everyone is about their "gods" or even "sacred" people they almost worship, and how it's weaved deeply into the main story, which was also a big frustrating point for me. Dialogues are always limiting to a point, but this is forcing the player into some belief box they don't want to subscribe to. In fact, this happens in a lot of games and is exactly why I am building my own RPG gameworld. So I'm pretty much playing at this point for study purposes, and to make company to husband since we're playing multi.
This why I have more interest in game play and jrpg and dating elements as someone with scruples I sometimes have morality issues despite it being fictional mythology. Games that go to far are the Shin Megami Tensai series (Persona included) as they've have used satan as a protagonist before.

I've been teaching myself C programming and i'm really struggling with finding good communities that aren't satanic hellholes. Ever since I became a christian last year, it's really bothered me how the old websites I used to visit (4chan, reddit, discord) all have porn, swearing, blasphemy and a tragic outlook on life.

Here's a screenshot of my build environment. I decided on using Xmake due to its out of the box support for recursive source linking. I'm using conan as the package manager since it's always important to save time by not reinventing the wheel.

The project idea is to send a command to a discord bot which takes an image as input and converts it to a scalable vector graphic but I have a lot to learn about graphics APIs!

Anyone else working on hobby code?

That's insane. Good luck with the project. I really tried to get into programming, but it's incredibly boring for me. Also, it's pretty difficult.

Let us know how it turns out? There are some programmers on CC, you might run into them. The owner of CC pretty much built it from the ground up.

So boring but eventually the work turns into a cool little gizmo :geek: its all about sustainable motivations and managing one's focus levels. Sometimes eating too much or too little can destroy your concentration. It's good to stand up, stretch and break up the blood clots o_O small breaks help me a lot. Surely most other creative hobbies are like that though?

It really depends on your interest. If your interested in programming, by all means create. God created us all different, but we all share some similarities.

I'm starting to get back into music, just started playing with some new friends. My video game time is being shortened, but like playing music more, so it's good.

You have some favorite video games you play?

Oh if its music you are looking forward to, I know the perfect game for you. fract osc lets you explore inside a digital synthesizer. The more puzzles you solve, the more tools become available in the digital audio workstation. It's super cool and i've made a few songs in there!

Recently, i've been playing league of legends and age of mythology: extended edition. If only they would work on linux mint ahhhh

Yeah, I'm looking at Linux also. Seems like the only Libertarian Operating System, although I think Apple's operating system is solid. It's seems well designed. Windows 10 seems pretty stable, but a little quirky.

How long did it take to get used to Linux? Do you just use a plug in usb drive to use Linux, or do you have a dedicated machine?

I only just recently switched from windows a couple months ago and used a thumb drive to make a dual boot. While great to grow up with lots of games supported, windows has started to bug me with its constant updates and unorganized user interface. It has too many things going on plus the telemetry baked into everything means that my minute clicks are constantly being monitored.

I tried ubuntu, debian, steamOS before settling on linux mint. It has the windows experience that you expect while giving you free reign on what software is installed. The simplicity of only have software used for my hobby just feels better. plus its free; what's not to love? :D

I think the major information technology companies we use for services are starting to take political stances that curb our freedoms. Learning how to access technology completely free from corporate influence is fun and gives you the freedom to be yourself. I haven't been banned from their services for hate speech but I do sympathize with people who have been effectively muzzled, such as Stefan Molyneux's Freedomain Radio.

Never heard of Stefan Molyneux, but probably someone worth listening to. Honestly, I think the Bible is my best news source, no matter the situation in the world, it has solid advice.

I have listened to Alex Jones for years, but the guy is a little to emotional. If he could just calm down a little, that would be great. I think he needs to hire me to be his co-host, so he can see what the average guy thinks of what he says, so he can address it. He has become to crazy and his marketing of products is just to much. That guy has enough money. Don't really visit his site now, it's just to off the wall.

The worldly planners already have told us what's in store for us, Jesus is our answer, so who cares what the world does....Just focus on Christ and it will work out. Well, that's what I'm doing, or least trying to do.

Your getting award today. Congratulations, you have reached computer nerd status. Using Linux, playing video games, and programming has made you head of the class.
