But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved."

When taking all of the other scriptures into account, the promise that "if you confess with your mouth, etc." must then be speaking to those whose names that were written in the book of life before the world began, who were predestined.

Before the world began, God had all of the names throughout all of history of whom He chose and had them written in His book of life. When any of these people hear the word of God, the Spirit confirms the truth and God draws them to His Son and they respond in faith.

Those whose names were not written in the book of life before the world began, when they hear they will not come because God is not going to draw them to His Son.

"For God so loved the world (those whom He predestined) that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You never had a single thing to say quite a few posts back now, when I pointed out the fact that some of your so called leading Calvinists do not even use scripture to support their conclusions. You just glossed over it because it has to make you feel uncomfortable since you cannot respond without drawing attention to the fact Calvinism is not actually all that Bible based and sola scripture etc.

Here. Let me refresh your memory and show you how an actual debate works in the process. An actual debate does not consist of LOL and hahaha and your false and trite preacherisms and appealing to an audience rather than actually engaging in a response to the post made that apparently, you would prefer does not exist.

However, Calvinists teach that God specifically created some for eternal damnation. That might be the major stumbling point of Calvinism. James White, a well known Calvinist expositor and author, explains this view and calls it 'Unconditional Election a Necessity'. BUT he supplies this view NOT from scripture, but from the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. HUH?

He also quotes from a number of leading Calvinists, such as James P. Boyce. Again, not a biblical source.

The view expressed is that God deliberately creates human beings to join the devil and his angels in the lake of fire. Scripture states no such thing and in fact God declares the lake of fire was NOT created for humans, but sadly those who reject Him will find themselves in that place.

To really illustrate the delusion that God has taken delight in creating 'human logs' as it were, Boyce states that God choose to save only a few BECAUSE it pleases Him to do this.

BUT God says in His word that He takes NO DELIGHT IN THE WICKED PERISHING!

"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord GOD, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:23


Study Calvinism before deciding this is the view you choose. You are the one choosing. And make no mistake. YOU are choosing.

Agree.. and maybe one of our Calvinists can answer this... I have posted it so many times

18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
Romans 5:18

Does that mean that judgement came only upon the elect men?

Upon some men from all places of the world?

No judgement has come upon “every man” that has ever lived!

Either Jesus died for everyone or not everyone is not under judgement.

Well let's see the scripture to support that conclusion. You write 'must be', not 'is', which indicates you have formed an opinion

I do believe God does know or knew beforehand who would accept Christ, but that is because God exists outside of time and there is no beginning and no end to Him. That, actually IS in the Bible, but drawing the conclusion that God created some people to throw into the lake of fire as Calvinists state, is NOT in the Bible.

I disagree that God will not draw some as the Bible states whosoever will may come, He is not willing that any should perish, (which definitely throws out that Calvinistic belief that some are created for the lake of fire). Drawing the conclusion that God 'rests His case' and ignores some people is making a double jeopardy scenario, in which a person is on trial, the jury has reached its decision, a guilty verdict has been rendered and the sentence of death meted out while the defendant is still getting dressed for court.

I agree that filing people under a certain name is not the way to go, but when they offer to do so for you, and are happy about it, I say believe them.

I disagree that executing the conclusion that God is a fan of Calvinism is the right conclusion.
 
Lolzzzz...gotta love how one verse is pulled out of context as some sort of proof of something, when if a person would actually bother reading the context they'd see the answer to their own question (maybe). :whistle:

Hint: When a verse starts with "therefore" it is referring to previous truths spoken, and shows continuation of thought and the answer is found in the surrounding context and not in a single verse as it is being misused.

Question to ask? "What is the therefore there for?"

Oh, and if we take "all" to mean what someone thinks it means in that text in a post above, the text then means unequivocally Universalism. That's what you get with poor exegesis, a verse out of context, proof texting: Error. :)
