I recently created some homemade French fries from looking at a few websites. It is way cheaper making them at home, than going to Five Guys Burger Restaurant.

kinda's homemade fries.

Dice potatoes into French fry cuts.

Boil potatoes in water for 3-5 minutes.

Place baking tray in oven and preheat oven for 325 degrees.

*Spray oil on tray and fries before placing in oven

Place potato pieces on hot baking tray and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Turn fries on different side and cook again at 425 degrees 10-15 minutes.

Place steaming hot fries on plate that is covered with 2 paper towels.

Add salt and any ingredient you wish.

Serve.

I just made pizza, using Pillsbury pizza crust as a base, baked 9 minutes @ 400 F, during
which time I prepare the toppings, of cheeses and tomato, then baked again for 9 minutes :)

Very quick and easy, and tasty too :D I was a little short on tomatoes today :giggle:

I add garlic powder, Mrs Dash, black pepper, and basil for extra flavoring :)

I use cheddar around the outside edge, with mozzarella in the center
under the tomatoes, and then sprinkle shredded aged cheddar on top (y)

It is yummy (as usual)! I ate half of it :) I will have the other half tomorrow :D

My daughter bought me a pizza pan so I could make my own pizzas

And parchment paper, too :D

Nice. Home cooking just tastes better, maybe because it's cheaper. haha

Your daughter was giving you some hints maybe.

She insists on doing all my grocery shopping during this COVID thing.

She orders online and picks up once a week for her household, and for mine :)

My household is myself and my cat. I then likewise pick up from her once a week :D

Good system. You also have time to visit, plus you cut the burden of grocery shopping in half.

Please do. You won't be disappointed. A trick is to cut the fries thin, so they cook evenly, and quickly.

Just tried this recipe and was not disappointed. The fries are crunchy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside.

I followed the recipe exactly, choosing to use the high end of the cooking times. See pics below. Thank you for the recipe.

I do wedges instead of fries...even easier

wash potatoes and cut into wedges. Leaves skins on.
coat with seasoned oil (i use lemon and garlic infused olive oil) in baking tray or coat in plain oil with any other herbs or spice seasoning mix
bake for half an hour on high heat till golden

drain on paper towels

eat

My favorite dish 😊 I am eating this now while posting this. 'Sorry no measurement of the ingredients but it is a single dish 😉 Very easy to cook easier than writing this post(excuse my English please 🤭) 😅

Ingredients:

Mustard vegetable (I don't have this right now... I replaced mustard with another leafy vegetable)

Lady fingers(Okra)
Tomatoes
Radish
Spring onion
Garlic
Shallots
Fish sauce
Sinigang powder (u can use fresh tamarind or lemon it is up to you to reinvent as long as it will give the soup the sour taste)

Miso paste(I am using Japanese miso paste)
Water

And of course don't forget your neighbor's beloved salmon pet fish 😂😂😂
Just kidding 🤗 I bought salmon fish head 😉

Procedure: clean the vegetables and the fish head. Cut the tomatoes in half, Halve each half through where the stem is attached again so that you now have four equal pieces. Cut also the taro root like how you cut your tomatoes but be careful don't cut it too small or else you won't see your taro anymore because when it is overcooked it melts.

Anyways you can cut the vegetables the way you want it 😂 It is hard to explain 😂

When the water is boiling already add the sliced tomatoes, ginger, shallots and garlic let it boil until it is soft then add the sinigang powder. If u will use fresh tamarind fruits you can boil it first together with the tomatoes, garlic ginger and shallots. IMG_20200709_140624.jpg

Take the fish head and lightly fry it (before you fry the fish rub some salt and powdered pepper on the fish).

When it is almost ready transfer the fish head to the boiling soup add the lady fingers, spring onion, fish sauce and mustard vegetable. Don't overcook or boil the vegetables too long if you like it crunchy...( I prefer half cooked. vegetables) if you want it soft boil a lil longer.

Turn off the fire and dish out 😍 perfect with rice 🤤 Enjoy 🤗

Funny but True! it is cheaper to buy potatoes and make chips out of them. I use to do it from time to time, nowadays i look for discounted food. I go shops twice a day, but try to buy cheap goods. I do not like staying in. I eat from families houses from time to time. Do not go to five guys, but try McDonald's, much cheaper.
