This may explain why your theology is so messed up.

Salvation is not a prize to be won, it is a gift given by God, through His Son.

Paul understood better than just about any other that we have a finite amount of time to store up treasures in Heaven while on Earth.

Paul is referring to rewards and stations given at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Where not our sins are judged (they were judged on a cross in Jesus) but what we did in our Christian walk.

It is profoundly sinful, and treading on the Spirit of Grace, to try and win your Salvation.

I did not say it was about trying to be Saved, the poster I was addressing turned it into that.

Now if you would take that first step too, you could end all this drama.
When you know your guilty one of the things you do is continue to point to other people sins and deny your own

The only sin unforgivable is rejecting the only way to eternal salvation, Christ our Lord. You are not using this verse correctly. Only one unforgiveble sin. Never, ever accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior

See, even you are clueless, it's Blaspheming the Holy Spirit by equaling it to the same power as Satan, or from Satan as the Pharisees try to claim.

Agree...but seems purposeful to me.;)

I apologize to YOU for how I went about using Scripture to get to the verse I ended up with you! That was wrong of me. But the Book of Hebrews has 7 solid distinct anthems to it and it is not solely about the LAW like your buddy tried to claim. Melchizedek, the list of Heroes from the Bible, the Express Image of God, and several other topics have nothing to do with the Law. Just like the verses in Chapter 10 had nothing to do with the Law (even though a few tried to claim the Book of Hebrews was only about the Law).

But I don't want to be like that and I apologize for how I went about our conversation!

Hmmm.... I like a challenge.

Best I can come up with and admittedly not sure it qualifies .... I go to shot person "X" and miss. The bullet goes through the drywall and kills person "Y" in the next room.

Hmmm. ... does that qualify?

Oh, maybe a better one ... I think this works ....
I study the Bible and come to conclusions that I honestly feel are true even though they are false. Then I espouse my findings on this message board thus speaking falsely about God. I willfully said something wrong, but did not willfully sin; rather, I thought I was being helpful

Love your brother as yourself. I've never completely understood what this means. Read one explanation that I thought was best definition to date. As I do not completely understand what I am to do in this regard, I am sure I "blow it".

Well, that is my best shots. :sneaky:
Those are mistakes, not sins.

And Hebrews 10 does prove OSAS is a False Doctrine, to which I just sinned and therefore need to repent!

The father did do something @DorothyMae ...
He waited patiently from afar for his sons return...
Waiting is not Doing something but doing NOTHING. Second, the father says the son was to him DEAD. So he wasn’t waiting for him to return but assumed he NEVER WOULD. You are in error.

Yet Paul is Saved and still claims he could be disqualified.

Amen!

I did say Paul was Saved.
I did not say what he could be disqualified from anywhere though.
I just said he said he could be disqualified.
That means that verse was not about Paul trying to be Saved.
She mentioned Salvation.

The actual "war" has always come from you, your friends, others who follow you all, not me, not other Reformed, it's come from you towards them, me, and others like OSAS deniers.
I would disagree the war is on a dogma that denies the Love of God towards all mankind and a dogma that very detestably denies the sufficiency of the blood of Christ for salvation which others promote.

However, very early on you challenged those who did not ascribe to the five main tenets of Calvinism.

Even using the word "pride" for not accepting YOUR dogma.

If admittance were made as to context, then the teaching by necessity has to change. Pride will not allow that as a large portion of their gospel teachings are at stake. Choosing via innate faith is proven false because the misapplication of the Scripture used is apparent, and, Soli Deo Gloria still stands.
Agreed! You take several verses and misuse them! ;)
There is no "balance" between electing grace and choosing one's own self into heaven. Stop looking for balance and instead accept the truths of Scripture that are so plain and clear.
Nope, you don't engage them, that's the issue. Nor do you use real Scripture or context. The entirety of your beliefs appear to be in melded together paraphrases of out of context something. It appears an angry rant, not debate. Frankly it reminds me of Steven Anderson.

Can you offer a contextually exegeted argument of a Scripture at least once? Without melding several contexts together and going callowly into something like a "HA! GOTCHA!!!! YOU CAN'T ANSWER I WIN!!!" diatribe?

The reason you don't stay on track is obvious. You cannot stand context because you cannot prove your beliefs in context.

And if you go back and read you will see @dcontroversal was taking a very balanced approach, however you and your clan were the ones that were insisting and insisting that only you possess the truth.

Oh and comparing him to Steven Anderson is that not you maligning him and used in a derogatory manner?

Go back and read sir.... the person making the accusation show up to court with clean hands.. maybe you should self-reflect as well.

Nope I'm not clueless. I understand blaspheming the Holy Spirit and if one does not accept Jesus and their Lord and Savior , that IS blaspheming the HS. To deny the work of God through His Son and the HS is to deny one's soul right into hell.

Well looks here, I found the post. Because I am not to proud to admit when I do something wrong
so forgive me For acting like a child and calling someone a name
Good beginning point for you most certainly.
Thought a small change of reconciliation. Eternally-gratefull did extend an olive leaf.

Grabs another box of popcorn and a soda to watch the fight.

Maybe surprised and see dramatic "kiss and makeup" ... but probably a fight.

Anyone aware of the Vegas betting odds ???

Those are mistakes, not sins.
Edit; if the person you’re trying to shoot is done so in an act of self-defense and you hit someone else instead, that is a mistake, not a sin. However if your initial intent is not self defense then yes, your scenario is a sin.

Woe is me. The continued assault on the Power of God to give eternal life for those who accept it. The deniers pursue Salvation as a condition with terms. God did not offer it that way. Living the life of a child of Jesus is a different matter.

So many false doctrines it is difficult for me to keep up.

Those are mistakes, not sins.
Definition of sin: an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.
Define immoral: not conforming to accepted standards of morality.

Hmmm... don't see anything in the definitions sayings SIN does not include mistakes. Man's courts say ignorance is not an excuse.

I only said Paul claimed he could be Disqualified.
And that Solomon was in HELL.

Everyone else took that and made their own assumptions.

But I apologize for you thinking the way you did, My Bad!
