Unfortunately for DorothyMae....she is either trying.. to save herself...or working to stay saved...

IMHO....she hasn’t a clue or understands what a born again is.....
Then why do you ask me if you assume I haven’t a clue?

I ask you because I’m trying to suss you out......and I came to that conclusion.

But then again I shouldn’t judge you.....sorry for that.....lacking fruit today...I’m still saved.

What she is saying is that when we are born from above, we are alive in Christ and our love for Him is reflected in our life. Naturally. A new nature.
Why can’t you supply scripture for this, for one? Two, how come one doesn’t see a love for Christ here or in the lives of all who claim they are? If they loved Christ whom they haven’t seen, they’d love all who are his at the very least. This is not demonstrated here.

In whose strength?......our own?

This is why I’m careful. Today “we want to suss you out” and tomorrow “you haven’t got a clue.”

How do the observers know the difference? What difference does it make to the recepients of hateful treatment from those who claim the love of Christ is in them because they’re a “born again?” Is the offense less because of whose strength it was committed in?

And as you have believed so it will be unto you.
Is it a sin to deny or distort the Scripture? Because if this is true there is no way you can declare that you have ceased from sinning altogether. In fact none of us can in this regard!

I have made it very clear to you in another post that is not possible to walk away from our "justified" decree/status which comes from God.

I notice you skipped it.

Do you have anything of substance to offer?
Absolutely correct. The Scripture is perfectly clear that we have been foreordained from eternity past to be saved for a glorification that is yet future. This of course encompasses and engulfs this teeny tiny spark of life in which we presently exist.

Because some don’t bear fruit......she doesn’t understand why they don’t?

I think it’s because the way some speak to her on this thread...I get the same on a non believer site.....if I put one word out of place.....they jump on me.......saying Jesus would never speak the way you do.

In other words because we are born again..they expect us to be perfect like Jesus was....they have no understanding of how God works in and through us.
Not correct. The problem is many claim the same love and Spirit of Christ is in them and their choices don’t add up to that boastful claim.

It would’ve been better not to claim they are like Christ because of some scripture they want to say describes them but take a humble position. A love of truth would have prevented them from claiming by faith they are “great.”

"The just by faith, that is, they who by faith are just, or righteous, (as δικαιοι signifies,) shall live."

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/benson/romans/1.htm

"Righteousness by faith is called the righteousness of God, 1st, Because God hath enjoined faith as the righteousness which he will count to sinners, [through the mediation of his Son,] and hath declared that he will accept and reward it as righteousness. 2d, Because it stands in opposition to the righteousness of men: which consists in sinless obedience to the law of God. For if men gave that obedience, it would be their own righteousness, and they might claim reward as a debt.” We may observe, further, the righteousness of faith is termed the righteousness of God, because God appointed and prepared it, reveals and gives, approves and crowns it."

I only was able to quit thanks to God intervening so I definitely attribute it to Him... :)

Yes some atheists do quit... My mother who is a hardcore atheist is a good example. Quit smoking for a few years, and later went back to it again. One can get a demon out even without God telling them so, sometimes people do realize with their brains that something isn't good. But that demon will come back, if not through the same door, then come back through another door with another vice, because the infirmity was never healed, and vacuum cannot defend the house. When such a person quits they start nagging and being cranky, or getting addicted to other things like food. Because the irritation and restlessness in the flesh (which is the reason they smoke) has never really been subdued. I've seen that first hand. So I disagree on that... About the claim how atheist successfully quit smoking without God, just like Christians do. But is this really a success?

Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
Luke 11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
I know atheists who quit and never returned. There are alcoholics who quit too, no involvement of God. Logically, I only need supply one to show man can quit addictions without God. So yes, if they never return it’s real success.

Again....you aren’t understanding what I meant....for me as a born again...once I figured out that I can’t do anything in my own strength....it was a huge revelation to me.....now I understand it....I have peace and security in God.

I do have a problem with patience in some areas....so I ask the Lord to help me become more patient in his strength.

Do you believe that?

Again it’s not scripture..just my personal relationship with the Lord.

You couldn’t possibly know if an atheist quit their addiction and never returned...you aren’t with them 24/7....only God knows that.....

So,why don’t you practice what you preach?

Because at times on this thread I see no love from you.

The only time I see you being nice...is when someone agrees with you...

I don’t have a team DorothyMae......how do you know God?
What does knowing God mean to you?...please explain.

For me personally.....I know God resides in my spirit.....I have my own personal relationship with him....I have taken up my cross and follow....I can only follow him...,because he is the light and truth...I am NOTHING without him!....I try and walk in obedience to him....but ask him to help me because I can’t do it on my own..I need his strength...I also ask him to help me trust him in certain difficulties in my life.
Since you think I don’t know much I don’t see how what I know will mean much.

Untrue. I told one of you that I feel nothing but love for you and he doesn’t like me. I have never used the insulting adjectives you and your team use.

There is no Good News apart from salvation being secure.

None.

Everything else is religion.

Thank you Jesus...we know by trusting in your completed work we are secure in you and you in us.
