Chester, Jerusalem is the center of the world (Ezekiel 5:5, Revelation 20:9, Zechariah 2:7,8). The way the firmament (Job 37:18) works is that it acts like a giant kaleidoscope that is above us. That is why in the claimed Southern Hemisphere the sun is presented as being where it is not, for most of the time, along with being able to see it anyway, because of it's size (around 6 feet wide (Genesis 37:9,10, Revelation 12:1), and 2 inches thick (Isaiah 3:18, Revelation 12:1)), and it's height above the world in the firmament (Genesis 1:17) (around 73 miles above the world over the north, and 100 miles above the world at it's highest - due south of Jerusalem (in June)), as it is magnified all of the time, along with being shown at a high elevation angle, up from the horizon, all of the time.
While the diameter of the Tropic of Capricorn, 9,978 miles, is greater than the diameter of the Tropic of Cancer, 5,846 miles (the diameter of the Equator is 7,912 miles), the way the firmament bends the lines of longitude going over the Tropic of Capricorn on their way to their respective north and south geographic South Poles is the reason South America, Australia, and New Zealand for that matter (as it is close, just claimed south of it), and Southern Africa appear as if they are on a Tropic of Capricorn that equals the size of the Tropic of Cancer, and we are on a globe.
The sun does travel a greater distance every day, during December, than it does during June. And during December it is going faster, as it rises, speeding up (Judges 5:31, Psalms 19:5), cresting exactly due south of Jerusalem, praise God, and slowing down, as it goes down from there and sets in the northwest, to pass over the north, every day - respectively, than it is as it does the same thing above the world every day during June. But remember, the kaleidoscope acting firmament is always presenting the heaven as if we were on a globe, presenting the observer with a view of where they are on any given longitude line - following it to the claimed north that would bring them to the geographic North Pole, and to the claimed south that would bring them to their respective north or south geographic South Poles - except near the logitude lines 002.674307786083575528416318295194° E and 067.795183748390479467629116785566° E, that would bring them to the southeast and southwest sides of the world, respectively. Glory to God.
The sun actually passes closer to the world - because of being inside of a firmament that is descending toward the edge of the world, as it's measurement in arc minutes is greater during December than it is in June. So that also contributes to why the days are not longer during December, in the claimed Southern Hemisphere, than they are during June, as a lower sun, along with a bending view from the firmament presents an equally appearing amount of sunlight during the day on reciprocal north and south lines of latitude (the Equator obviously being in the center of this activity of a higher sun/shorter route, lower sun/longer route, and warping view descending firmament)- with a much greater distance being covered in December, every day, than in June.
Glory to God.
