What other factor would cause you to lose faith in someone?

I am not assuming anything but someone Is trustworthy and keeps proving himself you will Never lose faith to say so. Well it is denying reality
Let's wait and see what his response will be.

I am not becoming like anyone JustJo....God has revealed the truth to me about my eternal security....sorry I can’t deny God...if you put me on ignore that is your choice....

I have apologised for laughing at Judges....it wasn’t nice...and I certainly haven’t attacked anyone on this thread......I can’t continue to agree with something I don’t agree with.
I look to God and ask him to lead me...not a human.

Again you stop believing when the person you trust becomes untrustworthy
...or when the heat of persecution and trouble drives you away to unbelief:

"They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away." - Luke 8:13

"When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away." - Matthew 13:21

That has nothing to do with God becoming untrustworthy.

A born again would never go out and do evil deeds.....remember the Holy Spirit resides in our hearts...

If a born again would never go out and do evil deeds - then there are a lot - and I mean a lot - of people around here who claim to be Christians - and you are telling me they are not Christians?

Present assurance is rock solid because I believe in Jesus Christ as my Redeemer, Saviour, Friend, Lord, and Master. He is the One who is able to keep me solid and keep my faith unshakeable and sure! If you have doubt and pressure it is because you are trusting your works and not the Lord Jesus Christ. There are no "sins" that make you lose faith: losing faith is refusing to trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation.

To believe that a point in time decision in the past is the basis of assurance means that I need to maintain good works in order to be sure that that past decision was genuine.
The idea of loosing ones salvation creates a sense of doubt and the idea of OSAS creates a sense of eternal security.
All my responses are based on those ideas and how they make me feel.
The doctrines leaves me with more questions than answers.

A bit a quandary isn't it?
People fall into this same hole over and over again.

Maybe you mean that as long as a person does not do too many sins they are OK? Or is it only heinous and extremely evil sins that someone who believes does not do?

Or, do you believe that a believer will never commit any sin at all?

Judges..don’t take offence....I can’t help laughing....because you keep involving yourself.

It’s all about you believing....I’m not joking I swear God is laughing at you for what you say here.

He Loves you dearly....but you have it the wrong way round...
I'm not offended.
I know why people think the way they do.

Sad: I know that feelings are important, but for me it is much better for me to base assurance on my faith in Christ than on a doctrine of man.

Pardon..not sure what you mean?

Christ is in me....I wouldn’t even think about doing evil.

Are you talking about evil on here.....?

I did actually ask God today why are some so nasty with their replies....some need the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts more.....others fiercely protect the word of God.....have any gone out and done evil deeds...if they have then I would question if they were born again.

Calvism does not teach the necessary to continue to believe and the necessity to live a holy life to continue to be saved So please‘Mm this is what I keep talking about
Well, @mailmandan , are you going to step up to the plate and correct him about this? I know you're not strict Calvy, but I'd appreciate it if you'd step in here and defend your beliefs that the true believer must keep believing or he's not really a true believer, and that the true believer does not live in sin.

So then by looking at people's works we are able to say whether they are Christians or not? Too many bad deeds (or only one?) means that you are a not believer (or were never one to start with). Is this how you believe?

I am saved by grace, kept by grace and ultimately glorified by grace. God is at the center of it all. He works in me to will and to act according to His good purpose and He will complete the work that He begun in me.
If I confess my sins He is faithful and just to forgive me and purify me from all unrighteousness. He will never leave me nor forsake me and northing can separate me from the love of God.

No doctrine, just the word of God giving me joy and complete assurance.

Now with that I agree completely! Yes and amen! Beautiful! PTL!

Yes it's sad. I agree with you. The Bible is my number 1. All these systems are infallible.
