I don't watch videos period. However the problem is stated in verse 1: And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
"The daughters of the land" were all idolatrous Canaanites. So Dinah really had no business going out to visit them. No doubt her parents may have admonished her about this, and we do not know whether she went without permission. But had she remained at home, there would have been no issues.
I remember those from my youth. Personally, I prefer Popsicle. Cherry or Grape. If I am in a wild and crazy guy type of mood I go bananas.

So it could have been a matter of who she was going to hang out with, and if we were to attempt apply a lesson from it today it would be to teach your kids to hang out with Christian's rather than the worldly. . ..

Thank you for giving this insightful response regarding Dinah's story. I am in the process of reading the Bible all the way through and I was heavily drawn to Dinah's story, but I couldn't necessarily figure out what it was about the story that drew me in. I didn't see it from this point of view, and I like it. Are you saying that Dinah is to blame for what happened to her?
Not entirely. Ultimately rapists are criminals, and she had the misfortune of running into one. Which means that she was without any companions or chaperones, and taking an unnecessary risk. Also the Hivites were enemies of the Hebrews, and the worldly are enemies of Christians.
The lesson for all women today -- Christian or not -- is that there are predators out there, and you need to be constantly on guard, and avoid making yourself a target, by dressing or behaving inappropriately.
Over the last few years, dress fashions have caused women to expose their cleavage unnecessarily. And even Christian women have failed to see that this is simply asking for trouble. Also, if a single woman decides to be in a bar at 1:00-2:00 a.m., and also drink freely, she should not complain if she is subsequently assaulted by some lowlife.
Then there is the issue of Rohypnol and date rape drugs. Young people attending wild parties are simply asking for trouble. Then they wonder when they are raped, assaulted, or worse. In fact all narcotics spell "TROUBLE".
There should be a box to check that says, "Does he even have any children? Or a wife?" Just saying. I would agree. It seems like another parable, revealing the Father working protecting of the spiritual seed of Christ . preventing from mixing with the flesh of corrupted mankind daughters of men. (daughters of the land) Unconverted mankind mixing with the sons of God, believers. New creatures that are not what they are, corrupted, but what they will be when they receive the promise that all die not receiving. A new incorruptible bodies. Neither male not female Jew or Gentile. Called the bride.
No matter what a woman dresses like, where she is, or what substance she is under the influence of; rape and sexual assault are very wrong. There are young girls who are led into such environments in their naivety and they ought to be protected and returned home safely with a lecture on their behaviour, not taken advantage of. The way a woman dresses is never a justification for her to be abused in any way. It is God's place to judge, He looks at the heart, not just the outward appearance. Some of your comments are misogyny. God is not like that, thankfully. He does however, have a very serious attitude towards rape and the abuse of women.

I think he is too extreme. It reminds me of a saying in the Talmud which I can loosely paraphrase from memory, something along the lines that one man locks his wife in the house and another allows his wife to roam free, and either option is okay. I may not agree with all of his ideas, but if he wants to protect his daughers by home schooling them, not allowing them to date, and then not sending them to college, I am not going to say that is wrong or sinful.
I don't let my kids, male or female, date before they are old enough to get married. If the are a year or so from a marrying age, that's fine with me. My oldest is a boy, and he just finished high school. I don't want my kids driving off into the night in a car with a member of the opposite sex where anything can happen. I think our dating culture is totally messed up. Dating is done for entertainment, and a lot of people, even Christians, date or have 'boyfriends' or 'girlfriends' for emotional fulfillment without really doing it necessarily to get a husband or wife. This is especially true of young people who date. What is the purpose of going through half a dozen boyfriends or girlfriends from middle school up when marriage isn't even in view? It's a waste of time and a way of hurting yourself emotionally and it opens kids up to temptation.
As far as women needing to be married and dependent, Paul encouraged both men and women to be celibate in I Corinthians 7. The latter part of the chapter may be referring to father's making the ulitmate choice on that, so that's pretty patriarchal. I believe the Biblical norm is somewhat patriarchal. I think fathers should give their daughters away in marriage. The Bible does not give church elders the authority to marry off other people's children without their consent. There is no Biblical evidence for NT elders or bishops or OT elders or priests having authority to decree and declare marriages into existence. Fathers gave their daughters in marriage. Esther's parents died, and a male guardian was involved in her marrying the king. Widows could marry whoever they will, but only in the Lord.
But as far as every woman having to be married, that is not Biblical. Maybe the dad in I Corinthians 7 who let a daughter who chose celibacy to remain celibate would keep her in his household for life if necessary. There are no convents in scripture.
The Proverbs 31 trooper woman bought a field and raised crops. She made articles of clothing and sold them, benefitting her family. We need to take that into consideration either. These are skills we need to teach women. Women do need to be concerned with the home and raising children, even now. Men have a proper role in the home. That does not mean it is forbidden for either to work 'outside the home.' In Biblical times, many people were farmers or were involved in cottage industries or both. This was true up through the industrial revolution.
I am not opposed to women going to college. But if one of my girls, at 18-years-old, met a godly, kind, responsible man of God who wanted to marry her, I might be open to it. I have raised my children, my daughters especially, to know that their father needs to approve of their marriage and give them away.
In the Old Testament, one of the prophecies to Judah going after the captivity was to find wives for their sons and husbands for their daughters. it is assumed to be the parents responsibility. I have suggested the idea to my daughters of finding husbands for them. I also pointed out that I cannot tell if a man is good-looking or not. But mom could help with that. If we had some other parents who were like-minded in the Christian community, it could work, but there has to be some kind of network for this to work. A Chinese Christian asked me yesterday if I knew of anyone who wanted to marry a single Chinese 41-year-old. They knew her mother. So apparently other cultures can use their social network to find a spouse.
This pastor is in the independent Baptist movement, or whatever they call themselves now. I've seen 'Fundamental' thrown in there in recent decades. If I am not mistaken, he is a KJV onlyist. He also made a video expressing his skepticism of the Holocoast because the term means 'burnt offering' and he didn't think mathematically that all those Jews could have been creamated in one particular set of ovens. He's got a video about men peeing standing up verses peeing sitting down. I think he got famous because he refused to let some federal police-type officials search his car. They busted through his driver's side widow, pulled on him, cutting his head against the glass. He posted a video showing his injuries in the early days of YouTube, got lots of views, and his preaching videos have gotten a lot of views since.
There was also a cell phone video fo him running someone out of the church for allegedly speaking ill of him. There was no Matthew 18 process, no opportunity for the guy to 'hear the church' and repent, no presentation of witnesses-- at least not in the video. He drove the guy out.

Even if a girl walked around completely naked every night at 3 AM in a dark alley outside a bar, that would not cause a rapist to be justified in raping her. But that does not make it wrong to warn the woman that her behavior could lead to her being raped. She would be responsible for her foolishness.
It is also foolish for girls to go around exposing cleavage and thighs and go out drinking at clubs. It is not wrong to tell them they might get raped.
Much of our society has really bad sexual morals. There are many people who do not realize fornication is a sin or who do not take sin seriously. College campuses have developed their own sexual ethics, which focus heavily on consent. Not that consent is a bad thing, but it is wrong to fornicate with consent. When you combine drinking culture with young people who think fornication is okay, and ethics that say it is rape if a man has sex with a drunk girl but not the other way around, then you end up with a lot of rape accusations.
If two people get drunk and agree to fornicate, that's not rape. That's sinful misuse of alcohol, and sinful fornication. I am not sure if the girl in the low cut top and the short skirt is more likely to find herself in this scenario, but I would not be surprised.
Fornicating and taking a girl's virginity does not make the girl one's wife. If a man did that in Israel he was obligated to marry her, but could only do so if her father gave her in marriage. Otherwise, they could not marry. The fornicating male still had to pay the brideprice. Presumably the father could marry her off to some other man who was not a priest, since they were not allowed to marry defiled women, but only Israelite virgins or widows of other priests.
And if a man paid the bride price for virgins and it was discovered the girl was not a virgin, she was to be stoned to death for playing the harlot in her father's house. But the man who married her was not stoned for adultery. Her sleeping around was akin to prostitution.
There are different kinds of harlots. Some take money. Some do it for free. The Greek word translated 'fornication' also means prostitution. The difference is the price.
The Matthew 5 passage, in the KJV, speaks against calling one's brother 'raca' or 'thou fool.'
In the past, it seems virginity before marriage was the norm in the US. I spent much of my life in Indonesia, and virginity is the expectation for both male and female at marriage. It got the impression that most were virgins at marriage. Indonesia is predominanly Muslim, but there are millions of Christians. My wife is from there, and I overheard her and a cousin talking about the scandal of a young single woman not being a virgin. It's considered a bad thing over there still. Social pressure, social conditioning, etc. may not give people pure hearts, but it can decrease the liklihood of fornication. So can having parents that do not allow girls to ride off into the dark of night alone in a car with a teenage boy with raging hormones. Teaching children values about sex can also help sheild them. If the girls are always at home or with their dad, it may not be physically possible to find a boy to sleep with.
Paul wrote of presenting the church in Corinth as a chaste virgin to Christ. The Old Testament says kohenim were not to marry defiled women. Sexual immorality does defile the body. It's not like these are totally unbiblical concepts. We can find forgiveness through Christ. But it is also normal for a man to want to marry a virgin or a sexually moral widow. Our society has the wrong values in this regard. Women should seek to marry sexually moral men, also. Defilement is a bad thing. A sane culture should recognize this. The west's has been crazy on the topic of sex, certainly since the sexual revolution.

I live in a large community where there were once many Christians, now the Christian school is closed down, the churches are accepting LGBT marriages, and the main church has kicked the Pastor out who was preaching truth. Realistically this environment is extremely difficult for kids to grow up in when they are surrounded by worldly kids who want to be friends with them.
It doesn't work.
That is total nonsense. When someone dresses provocatively, they are asking for undue attention and any consequences which follow. That is why the Bible directs Christian women to dress modestly and soberly.

From my reading of Deuteronomy 22, it was presumed a woman was a virgin when she married, as the death penalty applied for non-virgins, irrespective of a bride price for virgins.
Deuteronomy 22
13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:
16 And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;
17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
