For the most part, they are not speaking in the Holy Spirit.

Yes, if you can remove your thoughts from life in general, you can concentrate on the worship songs and truly begin to edify God, you will be in the Spirit. It is here where the true Gift of Tongues exist. < that position is not some babble yabble of seeka my bow tie and let the rubber band fly baloney.
To worship God is not depend on with speaking in tongues.
It is the matter of your heart weather you worship God with your words, or if it is only a good feeling. And God knows our heart.

Jaybird,

You have children. Without knowing the direction of their eyes or how they stood or their body language...how did you know they were lying to you when they told a fib? You could sense it. That is Discerning.

But that is not what I said.

There is a big difference by worshipping God by the thoughts of your mind versus your own spirit being connected with the Holy Spirit.

When you think and use the words in your mind while you pray, that is praying in the flesh.

When you are lost in God's Spirit, you don't think, you just do.

Until you've done the latter, you won't ever realize there is a difference.

Examples of praying in the flesh:

God I am in big trouble please help me
God I love you and whatever else comes to mind
God you are good and just, and you do wonderful things for me
etc
etc
etc

Praying in the Holy Spirit:
you are not even speaking, you are just in Him and unaware there is a world around you
sometimes in this moment you Speak in Tongues
sometimes you may just sing a song unto God

But your mind is not controlling what you are saying at all. in fact, your mind is not focused on anything. It's as if your mind took a vacation and it's only your spirit and God in one beautiful majestic place.

Fast for 14 days. There will come a moment where you're no longer physically hungry for food. And when you pray you begin to just cry. Your emotions will flood over you. Then you will begin to praise God. And suddenly, all you feel is His very presence. In this moment, you don't remember if you spoke, if you had thoughts, you just knew you felt God, and your spirit touched God.

Sometimes for those who've never been lost in God, fasting is the answer.

By exercising discernment.
thats what i am asking, how do you judge the message to really be from the heavens. when Jesus or Elijah were questioned they could easily perform a miracle. making funny noises is not a miracle, anyone can do it. matter of fact i think the angel/prayer language is the only gift that can be easily faked. tongues also means speaking in a foreign language, however you cant fake speaking in french or russian, and coincidently there are very few of these kind of tongues today, only the ones that can be faked.

If God has given us Christ to dies for our sins that equals "Grace." In return, it does not matter if they are pagan, witches, muslim, atheist, whatever, we are to also extend that Grace to them. When we were sinners and lost, we were in the same position with God as they currently are. So they are no better/worse than us before Christ.

Now, we can refute them, rebuke them, bind them if they try some stupidity upon us.

And if we ever are literally dealing with demonic power or demons, we can cast them out and order them in the Name of Eshu to be gone.

But in no situation are we to ever kill them or their spirit to the point they will be lost for all eternity from God.
its a big problem because anyone can use this to manipulate a large group of people, all they have to do is claim the message comes from the heavens. thee is no way to test it.

another problem is there is no benefit to this gift. its only function is you get to tell people you speak in the angel language.

John 16:13 Holy Spirit will not speak of Himself but whatever He shall hear that shall He speak.

The more you accuse others of being unlearned the more you demonstrate your lack of sound bible teaching.

Gods word became the bible as the apostles told you. Given for you to be completely furnished unto all good works. The OT prophets gave Gods word which Israel was charged with taking to the heathen nations round about them.

There is so much more than just three chapters in Corinthians. The rest of the bible helps you understand those three chapters and that very much includes Genesis.

May God give you a heart fit for repentance.

For the cause of Christ

I am not accusing you, I am telling the truth. God word didn't not become the bible LOL God word is written in the Bible . The word Bible is not in what we known as the " Bible ". The word Bible means: Books.

WE all know there is more than the three chapters in 1 Corinthians. So stay on topic Ok, three three That was mentioned speak directly to what the Topic thread is about " Gifts of the Holy Spirit". Which all are for today including tongues. Again your arrogance is very telling.

During this covid-19 debacle would be the best time to fast. Many will be forced home once the 2nd wave hits.

Not a component but the perfection. That which God has given as complete that His people can be thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim 3:16

You should ask these things at home.

only if you could used the word of God in context to make your point. You should read the Bible you have at home.

I'm sorry I don't know how to teach very well (in all aspects, not just spiritual things). I only know what has been given to me.

It's no different than a magician doing tricks for 2nd graders. They just believe it is real magic. Some adults are children who never grew up, never knew how to reason, clearly never was given the Gift of Discernment.

As far as benefitting from the Gift of Tongues, like I shown in Jude 1:20, it is a true benefit because it ultimately creates a Most Holy Faith in God. So it is essential to know the difference and follow what will bring us closer to God rather than away from Him.

I suppose I cant follow. The Lord knows my heart, so he knows what is real and what not.

If you pray with your own words and with your mind, then you know what you pray.
What is wrong with this? Where it is written that is sinful? I interprete flesh as sin. Maby you mean different?

So if you dont know what you pray, you even dont know which Spirit is behind it.

You then interprete that praying without knowing what is prayed is more valued then praying in words ore mind?

I think it is rather more beneficial for God to know the meaning of what I am praying than for me to know.
What am I able to do with what I know I prayed for?
Nothing!
What is God able to do with me not knowing what I am praying for?
Everything!

It's all within the understanding of what is more important. You to know or God to know.

If it's more important to know what I/you said then I/you am/are merely praying to myself/yourself and not to God.
Last time I checked, I, you, nor any current human being is God.

If we pray from the soul in the Holy Spirit, then we are giving our all to God.
If we pray from the mind, then we are dictating the conversation between us and God.
And that will never benefit us ever.

Makes for me no sense. You dont what you pray and mean that this pleases God more, then an serious prayer spoken in words?

Who determines this?
Is the Goal to benefit us self ore to benefit others? Is our Goal to praise God then there is no different how we do it, so long we are honest.

praying in the spirit benefits i agree, you definatly want to be in the spirit when you pray, when you read the scriptures, etc, however Jude makes no mention of praying in an angel / prayer language.

1 Corinthians 14:22 "Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers."

Tongues is used for outreach to unbelievers, meaning that it probably isn't appropriate for church service unless there are unbelievers present. That isn't to say that those who speak tongues at church are wrong. It's possible they don't understand the intended purpose of tongues and the proper time and place for that gift as described in Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 14.

Let me clarify... What I'd just said is not a lessening of the actual value of the bible. It simply proves that the bible can't be the "that which is perfect" mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13:10. Because, if the last words of Revelation were the last words needed to complete "that which is perfect", then "the bible" was NOT a necessary component of perfection because for 300 YEARS after Revelation was written there were ZERO BIBLES.

I will be praying for you because I know it could be difficult to adjust to that reality and I am for you, not against you.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby
It is the word of God that is perfect as the "perfect law" when mixed with faith . Nothing can be added to it or taken away from the living word .There are no laws or tools needed to rightly divide missing by which we could know Him more adequately or perfectly.
