I want to reach THE WORLD !!!! :D:D:D
Well keep sharing the Gospel. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess who the true King is. It will be a glorious time and it will be a devastating time according to which side your own.

Thanks so much for this post, EverlyGrace! 🙂

I can freely admit to being one of those dreaded "unintelligent" long posters. :)

My longest posts tend to come in the form of threads in the Singles forum, and this is because I usually introduce a topic by telling a story to hopefully make it more relatable to others. I've tried cutting out large chunks of my posts before but find that they tend to lose their "flavor" -- it's like making a recipe and leaving out several key ingredients -- but that's just my own style of writing.

I also choose to do most of my writing on a laptop, so the wider viewpoint makes me forget that even a few paragraphs will be much longer to scroll through on a phone.

I most certainly respect (and sometimes envy) those who can emote their thoughts while exercising extreme brevity.

I'm not offended at if/when people just pass by my posts because they're seen as being too long -- it's something we all do from time to time, and if reading long posts isn't your thing, no worries!

We have plenty of talented people here who excel at briefer postings that say everything that needs to be said -- I hope you (the original poster of the thread, Reformyourself, not the person I quoted, EverlyGrace) will find some of them whose work you admire and might even choose to follow. :)

P.S. Believe it or not, I went back and shaved 3 sentences off this post after I wrote it, just for you. :)
. Oh no, not another long post 😜😜 just kidding. I actually enjoy the longer posts. I am very optimistic and like to take any opportunity to learn and read. So thank you! You didn’t need to shave any sentences off haha 😆

No worries, I did delete a few sentences, but actually was pointing it as a gentle joke for Reformyourself (the original writer of the thread.)

Very nice to meet you - I'll be looking for your posts in th e threads, no matter how long or short! 🙂

Hope you have a great day. 🙂

Not necessarily. It is all about your target audience. Are you trying to reach a 5th grader? 12th grader? College? Or to persuade other scholars?

Obviously your target audience matters.
I thought the target audience was those on these forums...‘a generalized-other‘.

There’s one CC member who definitely means we’ll but I don’t read his posts because they rank up there with War And Peace.

I think it’s kind of harsh to say some are more “unintelligent” because they have a lot to say. Everyone has a different thought process. Some are more simple minded, some are more deep than others. They may have studied that subject and took the time and effort to write and share what they learned to help you. I don’t think because someone shares a long post that it should be considered a negative thing. An another note, happy Friday!
If the post is going a bit long, it can be broken up with lists or pics or gif..........perhaps....

The target audience is who the writer or teacher is trying to communicate to.

On this site some will try to reach the babes in Christ, or try to edify the mature. This website's forums can be googled and anyone can search for answers so it could be an unbeliever or one in doubt. According to who you have in mind may dictate how you write.

A mature and seasoned Christian will not need pages of info but a babe, one in doubt, or a unbeliever may need more info.

A knowledgeable professor trying to explain a topic may take two pages whereas a guessing professor may take 5 pages.
That is my point, yes, it is relative to the grade level.

I wasn't saying you were wrong. I'm just saying it isn't always the case. What if it is shorter because they do not know enough about the subject?

Wasn't a question but more of a addition to your comment. Oh well.
Oh, was that what it was? Had me fooled.

Have no idea who the member is (not here often enough) but this gives me Vietnam flashbacks to 50 pages of Levin's mowing from Ana Karenina...
