I’m sure others must have mentioned this, but why do some people post what looks like an essay. I honestly think the majority will skim through them (like me)sorry
They think they will be heard for their many words lolI usually exit those thread topics with a long opening post.
I don’t have time for these long winded posts; especially when they appear to be cut and paste jobs.
Are y'all talking about me? LolThey think they will be heard for their many words lol![]()
Do you do Long posts? There’s quite a fewAre y'all talking about me? Lol

V. True. Its prob just me who struggles with them..it really doesn't matter one way or the other -
if one is 'lead' to 'read' or NOT -
it's all about what touches our hearts at the time!!!
and WHAT we DO about IT...
Idk. It would be according to what you consider a long post lolDo you do Long posts? There’s quite a few
I have been known to reformat such posts for the OP, and re-post them to facilitate reading for other membersIt's even worse when it's a wall of text with no spacing or carriage returns to break it up - I never read that kind of post.
Generally, I just ignore them, especially if it is a solid wall of text not broken into paragraphs. I will also usually dismiss a post written with poor grammar and punctuation. A lot also depends on the OP. If it is a topic that interest I may do like you do and skim through to ascertain the high points, if any.I’m sure others must have mentioned this, but why do some people post what looks like an essay. S,pose I don’t have to read any of them (& I don’t) I should keep my opinions to myselfIdk. It would be according to what you consider a long post lol
Cristian?Oh does using an ellipsis count in bulk text...there are times when I feel as though "I may" overuse this interesting little series of dots that were not ever taught to me in school that I can recall
I'll admit I am a tad lazy about using them instead of paragraphs and actually smoothly jumping to the next thought trail...as if I expect you to just follow my train of thought as though you were me.
I tried to copy how I use them...but I think I failed. Sometimes I use it as a silence gap and not so much what they are supposedly for since there isn't a "takes pause" punctuation that is used in general conversation.
Edit: apparently the "em dash" and "ellipsis" can be used for pause much like colon, comma, and semi colons can. The more you know...
Good for a *trails off* punctuation mark?
Well we support freedom of speech around here. Your opinion is just as important as anyone else.S,pose I don’t have to read any of them (& I don’t) I should keep my opinions to myself![]()
