Actual Cases with an outcome as of May 1 = estimated actual recovered (1,671,351) + estimated actual deaths (23,430) = 1,694,781.

Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) = Deaths / Cases = 23,430 / 1,694,781 = 1.4% (1.4% of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have a fatal outcome, while 98.6% recover).

Hey Lady ! I don't think so. The virus is a kind of biological weapon. I just researched that Jilin virus is different between America one and Wuhan original one. Their spreading ways are not same!!! ACE 2 and RNA are definitely different. The normal bat virus's ACE 2 is designed by human. The normal bat virus is weaker and weaker after spreading for 3 times , but the CCP virus is stronger and stronger ! It's ACE 2 adapts in human body, but it doesn't adapt to animals. I did find a source, not for .2 but an equally low .4......Jason Kenny Premier of Alberta is quoted now as saying that the mortality rate for those under 65 is .006

Overall mortality rates don't mean much in my books. What matters is that we have data so that individuals can determine what their risk is. An 85 year old in a nursing home does not have the same risk profile as an otherwise healthy 25 year old. It makes sense to me that measures need to be put in place that will protect those who are at extreme risk....but we don't need to apply them universally. Its something we already do in just about every area of life....
