You’re doing it again.....there is no “WE”.....when you equate to that word.....you are working for your salvation.........”WE” rely on the Holy Spirit......not “we”....ourselves.

But ones salvation can not be determined by how one acts. Because no one acts in a measure that would earn them salvation if we all wre lined up and had nothing but our works and our actions. we would all suffer eternal death

I must admit when I first became born again...I tried to work for what God gave me.....I burnt myself out...after yrs of staying close and talking to God....he has showed me to rest in him.....once you reach that place....everything fits like a jigsaw puzzle....I have so much peace and I know it’s God’s peace.

How? Through the faith that justifies apart from works.

By virtue of what faith is it will compel you to keep God's commandments.
If you are not compelled to keep God's commands then you do not have faith.

Faith is what overcomes the world and gives us the victory.

Many people misunderstand what you're saying here to mean they can do nothing and it's okay. That's not the rest that faith in God ushers us into. If we're not working works of faith/righteousness, we haven't entered into God's rest yet.

Are you God?

You have no idea who has faith or is born again.....i ask God to help me keep the commandments....the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak....I certainly don’t worry about them...

You believed--through the gracious gift of faith God provided.

But anyway, this is the verse I was thinking of:

"...This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." - 1 John 5:4-5

Many think their works can "top up" their faith :cautious:

You should be concerned about your life because your life is the litmus test of whether you are saved or not.
Saving faith in a person is evidenced by the presence of the Spirit in a changed/ changing life.
No change of life means no salvation is present to effect that change.

Yes I agree...but that is the job of the Holy Spirit...he has changed my life beyond recognition......once I stopped working to try and change it myself that is.

I rely on God for everything...

Many have done this, I have seen many walk away, saying why bother. I can not live up to the standard they keep telling me I must live up to.. And walk away defeated.

it is WHY is am so passionate about this.
