Agree, many meat plants have had to close amid out breaks.
If that cow blood got into a cut we would get sores popping up in our skin.
Sores about the size of a quarter.
Mostly on the face and arms.
It would go away after a while.
I remember the huge mexican man had them all over his face. We all would get them sooner or later but his case was kinda comical.
I have good memories of "moo moo" the big guy.
When he would pick up those hind quarters (about 150 lbs) and load them in the trucks we would moo like a cow as he went by because he was like a big cow....lol.
I was a kid at the time and lied about my age. I found out quick I was not as strong as those men. Somehow I got strong like them. Looking back,it had to be God that I didn't get a rupture or bad back.
I walk a little crooked to this day from carrying that meat on my right shoulder.
