The problem is everytime I ask him a question he just asks me a question of something I never even mentioned. Literally the definition of a dance XD
Agree, frustrating.

I don't believe a saved person can be saved w/o doing any good works whatsoever. Faith and works go together like a hand and a glove. James even writes about that. @kaylagrl already posted the scriptures for it.
A clear understanding of "dead" in the context of James is important.

While yes James is encouraging works so the faith is displayed to others................... since faith cannot be seen by the human eye, but observed through works in no way means that faith must be accompanied by works as proof someone is saved.

For if this were true, James would have never had to write those letters and pretty much a great deal of the epistles are redundant.

The very fact James was exhorting works demonstrates we have a choice to make.

Works prove salvation then the opposite must be true no works, no salvation, which then means works have a role to play in whether one is saved and that is contrary to the Gospel.

Even non christians hate to sin, strive to do good works, forgive one another better than christians.

Your proof of saving faith is in your confession or in your good works?
See I can't stand this, I was answering you, you asked the question, now you want to come pick apart every answer like we came here heaping it on you.

My "proof" of God or my salvation isn't for you, nor your approval. This is exactly what I thought it was and just you trying to be right over everyone even though you won't even man up and make your point clearly. These kinds of conversations are pointless and honestly if you're not trolling, you are one who thinks you are save, yet are not, but are not here to educate everybody else on what a Christian "truly is" or something.

I'm sorry to be so harsh sounding, but it's just really annoying to think you might be sharing some insight only to find out the whole time you were just being bated for a theology class you never even signed up for.

Oh and yea yea yea, non believers are good too. Yea but the thing they can't see, the MAJOR thing that you still seem to be blind of, is the spirit man, that little part about the resurrected spirit, oh yea along with being reconnected to His Spirit. Yea man that's kind of the thing isn't it. Is all this strange to you?

It's not possible to define salvation to the extent that satisfies curious humans. At this point faith (trust) takes over leaving the definitions wallowing in mud
All we can do is accept the nourishment provided by God in our new found lives and try to attain to the perfect image as best we can through the mysteries of the faith and the personal relationship. No-one is going to adore God otherwise

You are a sweetheart, Blain... May your walk with God grow ever deeper and strengthen your commitment to Him.

Where does it say this passage is about earning rewards by works?
We read that in James 2:26 "For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead." You have to put the horse before the cart. You can pull the cart yourself, but it is better to use your faith to pull the cart.

So you are considered to have no good deed at all.
That is your thoughts, that is not what they Bible says. "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Philip 2:12) We need the Holy Spirit of God to be our Teacher and our Guide. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5)

Do you have the assurance & joy you are saved? Or you need to prove your saving faith by your works till your last breath?
That is a separate issue altogether. You continue to misunderstand the meaning of Lordship salvation, even after I have given you the biblical meaning.
