People assume prophecy is to foretell the future. A means to present history in advance. But this is not what Jesus says. Prophecy is so we can look back in history and see God’s hand in bringing an obscure event to pass.
Jesus said; “I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe” (John 14:29).
Jesus Christ won't be found any place on this physical earth, he warned his followers concerning this "False Teaching" of Millennialism. What do you mean ''Thats right'' He never offered them a physical Kingdom' He went out of his way to avoid them trying to make him king. When Pilate asked him if he was the king of the Jews he said his kingdom was not of this world.
My point was that the terms Kingdom of Heaven and Kingdom of God are the same. Christ is King of the Universe if he decides to sit on a throne in Jerusalem fine he can sit wherever he chooses but dont try to make a doctrine out of the fact that there are two different ways of writing about the Kingdom
Irenaeus of Lyons: “It is … more certain, and less hazardous to await the fulfillment of the prophecy, than to be making surmises, and casting about for names that may present themselves.”
We switched to GEICO about 4 years ago. Not entirely sure if we saved 15% or more but we are going to get a 15% credit at our next renewal. If anyone is interested I saved more in car insurance by switching to giecko.![]()
He is good people. If I were still a drinking man and somehow we met we could down a few cold Corona's, fire up a Cuban if available, and share military stories about our service. The US military are truly the first responders, minus the cheerleading, balloons and applause.Well actually in that one post he wasn't in this one he is just more of a messing with you kind. He can be a bit... what is the word-untamed? He can be like a lion and lamb he can be calm and insightful but he also can be a bit snarky but don't let him fool you he is good people
Prophecy, it’s not what most think.
And again, “From henceforth I tell you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he” (John 13:19)
Most of the prophecies about the coming of Christ were so vague, we could never base a detailed forecast on them until after fulfilled. John the Baptist stands out having said to be Elijah. Jesus stands out when said to be the Temple of God. Indeed, most today missed the Kingdom of God in the times of the Roman Empire thinking it would be physical instead of spiritual. And agree with the Pharisees that it is yet future and physical.
Robert Whitelaw says: When we analyze all these cases [of fulfilled prophecies], we find that the fulfillments may be classified into five categories as follows:
(a) Natural events, fulfilled as described by the writer; thirteen cases.
(b) Natural events, but not fulfilled exactly as described or foreseen; eleven cases.
(c) Fulfilled by events both natural and spiritual, but never exactly as described or likely foreseen: sixteen cases.
(d) Fulfilled by events in the spiritual realm only, but not as described or likely foreseen: forty-three cases.
(e) Fulfillments cited in the N. T. as the general tenor of ‘, what the prophets have said”, and always fulfilled by events in the spiritual realm: eleven cases.
Robert Whitelaw. THE GOSPEL MILLENNIUM and Obedience to Scripture.
So based on this it is hard to trust what we think a prophetic passage says until after God makes it clear by fulfilling it.
E.J. Young says; Now, it is contrary to the nature and genius of prophecy to reveal the future as detailed history. In all prophecy there is an element of obscurity and perhaps even of ambiguity. The Lord had distinctly said that He would speak to the prophets in a manner less clear and direct than that in which He would speak to Moses His Servant (Num. 12:1–8). With the prophets He would speak in dreams and visions and—so it would seem—in dark and enigmatic sayings. In revelations which were given as visions, therefore, we should expect an abundance of imagery and symbolism. There are many instances of such revelation in the prophetical books (e. g., Isa. 24–27; Joel 3:9–17; Zech. 14; Ps. 2; Amos 7–9).

Dave-L, are you picking up any ideas from this thread? Do you understand the errors that you are making?Prophecy, it’s not what most think.

Elijah will indeed return as prophesied. I believe that he will be one of the two witnesses in the end-time events. Regarding GEICO, 15 minutes can save you 15% or more on car insurance. Your estimation is right on target.Y
ou are so right David L....still trying to figure out who the scriptures are talking about. I mean who else was born in Bethlehem, of a virgin, and out of Egypt, in a certain blood line that can be followed all the way back to Adam and Eve.
Who spoke to calm the seas and wind, who chastened those in the temple saying my house is a house of prayer.
Who healed the sick, raised the dead, and was the one spoken of in the 22nd pslam.
Who was rejected by his own people.
"Where is magenta when you need her???? She can post the over 300 prophecies he vaguely fulfilled or should I say the old testament vaguely presented.
In fact Jesus held them accountable for not knowing the time of their visitation......was he unjust in doing this??
If it was so vague in scripture. Don't think so.
The wise men found their way to the blessed site....by what they were told. What excuse did the Pharisees have that were 5miles away???
His cousin John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah not as Elijah in fact Jesus was said to be Elijah too why is this
Does it have something to do with Passover? A empty place setting ...you figure it out.
Got to go but you can save more money by switching to Geico.
We are using Mercury, everyone is getting 15% because of Covid19 and reduced drivingWe switched to GEICO about 4 years ago. Not entirely sure if we saved 15% or more but we are going to get a 15% credit at our next renewal.
Can I ask you what denomination of Church do you attend?Jesus Christ won't be found any place on this physical earth, he warned his followers concerning this "False Teaching" of Millennialism.
"Go Not Forth" "Believe it Not"
Matthew 24:23-27KJV
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Yes, this seems to be true for all US based car insurers. The thing is, my driving has not been reduced in the least, if anything, I am driving more. I also have been enjoying less traffic due to the isolations but the last few days have notice an uptick in traffic in the Tampa / St. Petersburg / Clearwater metro area.We are using Mercury, everyone is getting 15% because of Covid19 and reduced driving
Umm that isn’t what the scripture is talking about though it isn’t talking about millennialist you can’t just post scriptures and cherry pick words out of it to say what you wantJesus Christ won't be found any place on this physical earth, he warned his followers concerning this "False Teaching" of Millennialism.

I have attended and do attend Baptist, Calvary Chapels, Non Denominational Churches. Can I ask you what denomination of Church do you attend?
Too bad you bombed out of those mainline churches. They have an accurate understanding of Scripture more or less. And if you do not understand the pre-TRIB rapture and premillennial view, you had better study more and harder son, because you are dead wrong.I have attended and do attend Baptist, Calvary Chapels, Non Denominational Churches.
Born again, Spirit filled, washed in the blood believer!
I believed in a pre-trib rapture and millennial kingdom on this earth for 20 years, until I studied Gods words and found out it wasn't in there, no place.
Claim Jesus Christ returns immediately after the future 3.5 year tribulation Matthew 24:29-31, in fire and final judgement "Dissolving" the existing heavens and earth by fire 1 These 1:7-8, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 20:9, 1 Cor 3:13Umm that isn’t what the scripture is talking about though it isn’t talking about millennialist you can’t just post scriptures and cherry pick words out of it to say what you want
As far as the physical kingdom goes I do think it is a future event but as for a physical or spiritual one this is one of those times when prophecy needs to be taken with caution
We can decipher prophecy to a point but in the end regardless of our interpretation there are some prophecy that cannot be deciphered with our own views
But what if it isn’t a physical or spiritual one? We are thinking in terms of flesh vs spirit but Jesus himself was both he was physical and spiritual so it wouldn’t be that much of an impossibility for the kingdom he brings to be both as well
Nope. Time for you to hit the books fella. Come back after two or three years and repost.Claim Jesus Christ returns immediately after the future 3.5 year tribulation Matthew 24:29-31, in fire and final judgement "Dissolving" the existing heavens and earth by fire 1 These 1:7-8, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 20:9, 1 Cor 3:13
Then the New Heaven, Earth, Jerusalem in the twinkling of an eye.
I clearly explained the chyrches attended, there isnt a pre-trib rapture found in the Holy bibleToo bad you bombed out of those mainline churches.
