With your distortions, anything is possible.I was.
How does that even remotely mean works earn salvation?
It doesn't, of course.

There are countless former genuine believers who would beg to differ.A REAL believer cannot fall back into unbelief. A GENUINE believer cannot fall into unbelief. It is only those who were never saved to begin with, that can fall back into unbelief.

From a much better place than your incorrect hypothesis ~ life. Working in the medical field has afforded me the opportunity to meet COUNTLESS people who were genuine believers who genuinely lost faith. But I digress; you know better than they do with regards to their personal experiences. And where did you get this countless count from?? It boggles the mind that ANY genuine believer would revert back to unbelief..
You have to hold firmly to the gospel by which you were saved, or else you have believed in vain:Adding to "GOD that justifieth", not man's approval.......
The Lord says those who are His are justified, righteous in Christ, then proceeds to inform those who are His there is nothing
that can take me away from Him, or Him away from me.....
Like a son......once a son always a son...

I don't see what is so difficult to grasp about that.
You owe it to everyone here to explain why we are trying to save ourselves by works if we obey these commands:... We are not kept saved by the amount, quality, or constancy of our faith, but by the grace and faithfulness of the One in whom we initially trusted. "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself."
Therefore you will never understand the rest of the New Testament..... not by a long shot.
You fumble around in the dark pulling out verses that in no way support Jesus abandoning His children.
I will not try to prove anything to you anymore you are steeped in confirmation bias.
You just want a soapbox, but I will let people know you are not standing on Truth.
Interesting. There are countless former genuine believers who would beg to differ.
I’ve met more than I can remember. Holding your dead child in your arms can have that effect ~ at least temporarily. My heart goes out to them.Interesting.
I would have thought a few at best.
You have to hold firmly to the gospel by which you were saved, or else you have believed in vain:
"2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2
God certainly has begun a good work and will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ for those who hold firmly to the word (the gospel) that Paul preached to them, thus confirming their salvation status, but not for those who failed to hold firmly to the word (the gospel) thus confirming their unsaved status by believing in vain, which is to believe without cause or without effect, to no purpose. (1 Corinthians 15:1-2)Phil 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:.
Interesting.
I would have thought a few at best.
You owe it to everyone here to explain why we are trying to save ourselves by works if we obey these commands:
"stand firm in the faith - 1 Corinthians 16:13
"building yourselves up in your most holy faith" - Jude 1:20
"holding on to faith" - 1 Timothy 1:19
"hold firmly to the faith we profess" - Hebrews 4:14
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess" - Hebrews 10:23
"And now, dear children, continue in him" - 1 John 2:28
"As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you." - 1 John 2:24
Let people know how it is 'not standing on the Truth' to do these.
And where did you get this countless count from?? It boggles the mind that ANY genuine believer would revert back to unbelief..
That's a great promise. That's why you should hold firmly to your faith in the gospel:Phil 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
What I don't understand is how osas can ignore the whole counsel of God about this matter.God Does the WORK...By His HAND HE moves men.....
Not sure what you dont understand, when you are His, that's it...
You have to hold firmly to the gospel by which you were saved, or else you have believed in vain:
"2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2
So we see there's some scriptural context that you have conveniently left out.
Amen to that.....nor can it be forfeit or given up.....it is rather clear....any and all conditions placed upon a man that requires US maintaining our salvation or faith to KEEP salvation = a works based salvation that devalues Christ and enthrones self!!Listen no one loses their salvation... let us be clear on that.
Dude....you are the one denying context and the fact that he is addressing those who are denying the resurrection of Jesus....get your head out of the sand genius!!
Yes, you owe us the truth.Funny ... "I owe"
Everybody knows this. That would be right you cannot save yourself by works.
Everybody knows you do not get saved on the merit of righteous works. There is one act of obedience required of a person for salvation.
To believe IN Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
