Yes.
Pisteuo is what justifies.

In contrast to just pistis.
Contrast?

Here again you try to put scripture against scripture....

Just as agapao, comes from agape,

The word pisteuo comes from pistis.

Dont do this, not that I am a pro, you are causing more harm not knowing hermaneutics.

Are you perfect in all your ways?

You started out as the man who asked for mercy. But now you have become the other man. The self righteous man who was thanking God that he was not like the other man who he deemed was a sinner/unsaved.

You started out right. And now that God has purified you and made you clean, through no effort of your own, you want to take His glory by tooting your own horn.

Humble thyself! Hypocrite. Liar. Humble thyself.

If you have made progress in overcoming some of your sinful ways. Then teach others how to do the same. But not to gain salvation, but rather to do the things that are pleasing in God sight.

God did not set you free from your sinful ways just so that you can show off on those struggling or who perhaps have not yet come to an accurate understanding.

God did not change you so that you can now spread lies, that you are saved by doing good works.

So if you don't know how to preach the gospel, then be quiet.

Tell me, when did God appoint you to go about, and say who is saved and who isn't?

Can you see into anyone's heart? Humble thyself and let God do His job. He does not require your assistance.
Amen!

Acts 5:32
[32] And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

If you do not obey him, you have no Holy Spirit.

i have found GRACE ( God's unmerited favour),and by faith,( Hebrews 11:1 Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for,the evidience of things not seen.) I have BELIEVED Romans 6:6-8 Knowing this, that OUR OLD MAN ( NATURE)is crucified with Him,that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN. For he that is dead is freed from sin.Now if we be dead with Christ,we BELIEVE that we shall also live with Him:

i am no longer a sinner but forgiven of my past sins,no longer a slave to sin but if I trespass and commit a sin,I have an advocate to confess to and forgive said sin.
No disagreement on this.

Ahh, a hateful, prejudicial, derogatory name coming from someone who is sinless.

Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen!

So do we have to confess our sin in order for it to be forgiven?

Never have I stated I'm sinless, and it is derogatory to your place of residence...lol

It isn't calling someone a hypocrite, liar, seed of Satan,of demon origin and others that I have seen espoused here!

If we CONFESS our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin.
Notice that - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (vs. 9) is IN CONTRAST TO - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (vs. 8) and - If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us (vs. 10).

Some people misunderstand verse 9 to mean that we must confess each sin that we commit as we commit them (keep a specific inventory) as an additional requirement to remain cleansed and if we forget a sin we are toast!

John 17: 17 &19 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Romans10:10 For with the HEART man BELIEVETH unto righteousness; and with the MOUTH CONFESSION is made unto salvation.

The primary Greek word for "confess" is homologeo which basically means "to say the same thing" and then "agree, admit, acknowledge." Genuine believers do this, even though they are unable to tally each specific sin they have ever committed.

Believers speak the same/acknowledge/agree with God's perspective about their sins and have a settled recognition and ongoing acknowledgment that one is a sinner in need of cleansing and forgiveness.

So do we have to confess our sin in order for it to be forgiven?

Good Question!

It is not HAVE TO, it is WANT TO. Part of our New Nature as a Born Christian, is to Want To confess every sin we find in our lives.

VERY FEW SINNERS REALLY WANT TO CONFESS SIN, when THEY ARE NOT BORN AGAIN.

Why do you come to this thread?

It obviously causes you consternation....then you just end up retaliating....this is very similar to those other account holders.
