I ask you again:
How many times must one confess Christ to be saved? (death, burial, ressurection)
Why are you emphasizing 'saved'?

A person is saved the moment they put their trust in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sin.
They must continue in that trust in order to remain saved:

"2by which also (by the gospel) you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you" - 1 Corinthians 15:2

Search yourself....
Im secure in Christ Yeshua....
I am secure in Christ because I am presently believing/trusting in Christ.
And I know that I really am believing/trusting in Christ, and not in some false gospel, because I have a changed/changing life.

Paul is reminding those who say they believe , you know like those who "claim " to be believers but they are truly not ...Paul is saying it to them "Unless you believed IN vain "...

Regardless of all the evidence shown to you from the Bible you choose to focus on YOU and what is required of YOU.

When you take this focus from yourself and place it in Christ... through faith for eternal life ... meaning when you cease from YOUR work and accept HIS work then you will be saved.

Asking God to forgive your sins and trying to do better is not the Gospel.

The changed/changing life is not what justifies a person.
It is the evidence that you have been justified.
You know you are justified in Christ and ready for the Judgment by if you can see Jesus in your life.
It has nothing to do with earning your salvation.

When you take this focus from yourself and place it in Christ... through faith for eternal life ... meaning when you cease from YOUR work and accept HIS work then you will be saved.
How do I accept his work?
WHAT is his work?

Asking God to forgive your sins ... is not the Gospel.
You do not know the gospel:

"25God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, i through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith." - Romans 3:25

This is exactly why I don't think you are saved.
You did not accept the forgiveness of God for salvation.
You don't even think that's the gospel, let alone received it by faith.

Why did you only quote the following that @EleventhHour said

Asking God to forgive your sins....is not the gospel when in fact she said

Asking God to forgive your sins and trying to do better is not the Gospel.

Surely if you are quoting someone with a response then the quote should be verbatim?

One more time...

Salvation is being declared not guilty of all your sins and assured of eternal life in heaven, which means repenting from all your dead works (trying to earn heaven) and believing IN Christ Jesus who did all this work and HE offers it as a gift to those who believe in Him for it... by grace (His Work) through faith.

You trust in Him to save you because HE forgave you 2000 years ago... the payment has been DONE... it is up to you to accept the payment by faith.

Eternal life/security is the necessary conclusion of GRACE

Saving faith does not simply affirm that Jesus’ death is "necessary," it must affirm that His death is enough!

It is sufficient all by itself to pay for your sins apart from any human effort or good work, and that it is a free gift available only through faith, and apart from any human effort or good work. (See Galatians 2:21)

This is the GOSPEL

Very dishonest Yudge modifying 11th's reply - Right along the lines of the serpent in the garden "hath God said".
I am so used to it .. I do not even notice any more, I just expect it.

He actually took some out.... WOW... I cannot imagine that was a slip.

Something .... just something .......... and then has the nerve to accuse us of all manner of sin.
Why do I bother? :(

She has said before that salvation is not by having your sins forgiven, that's why.
That's the part I wanted to address.

I stated asking for forgiveness was not the Gospel.

Like in the Catholic Confessional ......Father forgive me for I have sinned..... get your facts straight and if I put it that way it was in error.

Yes, to believe in vain (1 Corinthians 15:2) is to believe without cause or without effect, to no purpose.

I looked at your response which quoted @EleventhHour
You left the rest of it out.

If as you say above she said before "salvation is not by having your sins forgiven"

Then that is the post you should have quoted verbatim. You in your response deleted part her full response that you quoted.

That is truly is dishonest and if people on here looked at your post then they are reading something that you edited and not what she said.

So can you go find a post where she said "Salvation is not by having your sins forgiven"

Those exact words please. If you cannot then you need to accept what you have done and put it right.

You have misrepresented what she actually said.
