In my experience it can be immediate or with some of us more stubborn folks it can be a process. Some of us are more like Thomas and need assurance before we can fully understand and to let our defense down. While others are the mary magdalene. Who immediately let's go in obedience. Both wanted to believe but both needed different amounts of time to fully open up. Some are learning what love is, what a relationship is, and how a Father God is different than maybe their imperfect abusive earthly father.

I remember wanting Jesus and accepting Jesus as a kid. I was baptized. And as long as I can remember the Spirit was as I once described it as a annoying conscience. I wanted to do bad but my conscience often protected me even if at the time I hated it.

But I never had a big change until my twenties when all the years of battling the Spirit, quenching it, repenting, guilt, shame, I finally let go of the reigns and as my testimony says, I was tired of living hypothetically. From then on I have seen a crazy amount of change.

Change word hypothetically to hypocritically. Spell check....

Thank you for your testimony.....I was saved as a child too n I’ve had my ups n downs. My late hubby when he got saved it was done. The change was right away. My youngest son when he let go n let God the change in him was amazing. I’ve never felt what he experienced....My X got saved at 72 but there was no change. That could be because of his Combat PTSD. I don’t know. All I know is as a Christian I’ve made some pretty bad choices. Still I know God loves me n I belong to Him. He has blessed me in spite of my choices.

Sometimes when the soul has been beaten for so long, the body has been dragged through the gravel for so long, and our minds have lost all strength. It simply becomes like the thief on the cross. A beaten worn out shell of a human that could only muster the word Jesus. The heart is the true indicator. God knows if someone truly wants to know Him.

It seems there are many raods, though only One Way and Truth, to the same destination because eac of us begin in a different place. I believe it is easier for some and more difficult for others. I have seen all of them in a dream, and finally my own. If this does not help, do not worry, our Father is in charge always, and once we staart, naming the Name, we are on our way, but we must stay on the high way given us.

Your asking "when you get saved" as if you think you got saved somewhere between when you were born and now. Me and you and Paul and Peter and all who come to Christ were saved at the same time and place, the Cross. What goes on from the time we are born till we die is we either realize it and believe it or deny it and try to affix it to some act we preformed in our lives. One is immediately filled with hope while the other is trying to experience that feeling and so still looking for it.

It depends on the person, and the time frame in which they are born.

For today there is much more abundance of sins to enjoy then when the Church first started, and more sins to enjoy even from the Little House on the Prairie days that type of atmosphere.

Technology caused money, and material things to flow like a raging river, and they can reach out farther, and reach more people to make money, and worldliness a plenty, and fleshy pleasures galore.

And it kicked up the selfishness, and arrogance, of people to a level never before in history.

Jesus said since iniquity shall abound at this time the love of many shall wax cold.

A hypocrite is a person that claims Christ but also goes by the sins of the society that they are a part of, which today there is a lot of sin compared to years ago.

So it produces a lot of hypocrites compared to years ago.

There is a lot more sins to avoid today, and easier to access than years ago.

Which the children grow up in that type of atmosphere like America then if they come to God they do not want to get rid of what they enjoyed which is of the world, and if they do give up sin many will do sin for a while before they give it up.

They did not have much to give up years ago than they do now.

The love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, and what money can purchase, and what a person can enjoy with money.

Money was not flowing like that before technology among people.

Which God said the last generation shall devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men, for they will heap and heap money to themselves, and we see today millions of dollars and billions of dollars is not good enough for them, and many people are enjoying money for their selfishness.

But the Bible does say we grow in Christ, and no matter the time frame it might take some people a little while to stop sinning for they want to hang on to sin for a little while, and then give it up.

But they will have a harder time today than years ago to give up sin and be led of the Spirit.

A person will not receive the Spirit until they do not want sin.

This is my New Birth experience.

When I was 20, the Lord converted me over a period of 3 days. I began telling people that I didn't know what was going on but I think Christ is real and he is dealing with me.

The joy of the Holy Spirit and God's love had become real and excited me. And I didn’t want it to stop but feared that it might. On the evening of the 3rd day my happiness turned into remorse. God convicted me of sins I didn't even know existed. I began praying, sobbing and asking his forgiveness.

I also asked Jesus into my heart. I heard you are supposed to do this, probably as a child in Sunday school. I fell asleep exhausted in tears only to awake the next day absolutely convinced Christ had saved me.

I had never been so excited about anything. I began telling friends and others. I saw a whole string of conversions in and around people I knew. They believed me and wanted in on it too. None of us were churched, so we began experimenting with going to different churches. We and our girls rattled a few churches with our enthusiasm.

Not wanting to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, I gave up my musical career and began living the sermon on the mount (Matthew 6:24-34). Seeking first the kingdom of God as a career. To make a long story short, I began working unskilled labor part time as unto the Lord. And retired early out of my own pocket, never missing a day's work even through two major recessions and job closings. The Lord is faithful.

This sounds very familiar. It happened to me when I was 25. That was before June in 1969. Actually when I looked back it was Good Friday. That was the second day, and on the Third Day God gave me a Bible opened to Isaiah, and I was quite hooked and since being reeled in. All blessings in Jesus-Yeshua..j
