Faith works by love. And love is the only true motive that bears fruit, according to Paul. Here's an example. A boy scout helps an old lady cross the street. But since it is to earn a merit badge and glorify himself instead of God, it is sin. But he would suffer more in hell had he not helped her.The applications of faith.

it is sin. But he would suffer more in hell had he not helped her.
Unless born again, what other motives might it be? Other than self-glorification or pride? "There are none righteous."How do you know that he was trying to earn a merit badge by helping the old lady?

Now I understand your logic displayed in other threads and posts.
No, not 'probably' is sin.if there is something you do that you believe is a sin, it probably is...for you.
It is helpful for you to flesh out your ideas in your opening post. If all you provide is a title and a cryptic comment, it looks like you're fishing for material for a first-year college essay. The applications of faith.

The verse is literal. If what you're doing is not rooted in faith in Jesus Christ, it is sin. When you understand all that Christ has done for you, you experience the freedom and restriction of being a child of God. Walk in that freedom, respect the restrictions, and you will avoid sin. Walk in fear, uncertainty, doubt, and carelessness, and you are essentially questioning God's goodness and grace.

I may have understated my case but I can imagine where someone might feel condemned if they do something it is a sin NOT to do.No, not 'probably' is sin.
It IS sin for you if you believe in your heart it is wrong to do, and you do it, even if in and of itself it really isn't wrong to do in God's eyes.
When a person lacks the conviction (the faith) to see that something is okay to do, and they do it anyway, they are condemning themselves.
