Does anyone believe Satan still petitions God about messing us like he did Job? Did that change at the Cross of Calvary?

That's a question I've never considered, and never seen or heard asked. The Bible doesn't give us a clear answer on either question, but it does say this in 1 Peter 5:8, 'Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour'. From that (and drawing on a lot of material written in the last 30-40 years) I can say that the enemy still seeks to undermine Christians in any way he can. Jesus' death on the cross made the devil a defeated foe, and Christians have the authority to cast out any unclean spirits.

I'd guess no. That story seemed to suggest Satan tried using a tactic to show up God. And it failed. An enemy with strong tactics won't waste their time using tactics that don't work.
And Satan has had a long time, since then, to find more effective ways.
So obviously Satan does work hard to influence us, but I don't see it being so extreme.

Ty. I was so scared of Revelations as a kid. I just knew I didn’t want to go to hell. I don’t remember exactly when I got saved...I was so young. I’m so glad we have a Savior. God bless you
Eshu (Jesus) is our Mediator for a reason. Clearly Satan still meets with God in order to bring accusations against us. Now whether God still allows Satan to put obstacles before us because God knows we will "Trust Him" even more is something to consider. But knowing our Adversary, once he is given permission to do something once (like with Job), he won't hesitate to try it again.
Well he’s (Satan)had my number n when I should have been listening to the Holy Spirit, I did what I wanted to So all my troubles I brought on myself. I can’t even blame that on my X. If I had been in the will of God my life since my hubby passed would have been different. Satan knew my state of mind n it made it easier for him. But then I believe everything happens for a reason n the Lord knows everything, so He knows our choices before we make them Knowing they will hurt us but mostly that it will hurt Him. But He allows us our free will anyway....
I believe the devil must get permission from God before he can do anything to a believer.
What did Jesus suffer on the cross? That's our calling. No pre-trib rapture hocus pocus.
Jesus suffered everything the ungodly (motivated by the devil) could throw at him and overcame all of it.

Yes, the early church (and other believers throughout history and in the future till Jesus comes) suffer as Jesus did,
for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God 1Thes.2:14-15
