Maybe a placebo effect will protect the dumb and dumber.

Fake News? Are you suggesting that when I see Trump standing at a news conference or any other live event its not really him speaking? Does your media have some Trump clone they wheel out for these occasions. I know conspiracy theory's are popular
in your neck of the woods but surely that's a conspiracy too far. Where is the real Trump?

I was watching (live on FOX News) him ask the doctor the question. It sure seemed to me like he wanted the doctor to say yes we can. It was kinda funny watching the president trying to back pedal. He's probably still chewing on his foot this morning.

The real news coming out of the news conference was the fact that at summer temperatures, and low humidity, when exposed to UV light the virus has a half life of <1.5 minutes.

once again, that was a dumb thing to say, but it is NOT saying " inject a disinfectant into your body".

It was more than Dumb it was dangerous. I saw another report about people asking for advice on whether they should stock up with disinfectant. But of course it was probably another one of those ''fake'' news reports along with the warning from the Dettol manufacturers warning people against ingesting their products. Trump claims to have been sarcastic when he suggested it
He didn't look sarcastic to me. In any case if only one person dies anywhere through listening to him its one too many.

As a Canadian I always look forward to summer....we just got some snow earlier this week, it didn't stick around and its not unusual in April...but its still annoying because we also get lots of days kicking up over 50 deg F.

I'm easing back a bit on my fears about lockdown measures taking away liberty and freedom....I'm still worried about it, but seeing some push back in the U.S. is easing my concern a bit. Sorry for the peeing in the swimming pool metaphor, but I really do think its an accurate description of what actual lock down measures are accomplishing when 1000s of workers are going in and out of warehouses and other essential buisness places with no effort to identify asymptomatic cases.

A placebo effect would go a long way. There is not that much of the corona virus around. It does seem to be a problem in the meat packing plants right now, but I am sure conditions there are filthy.
