Yeah that verse is about all you got.
You have 3 ceasing.
Prophecy
Tongues
And knowledge.

So you have no prophecy, no tongues, and no knowledge in you or your teachers

I would say ditto.
You guys do not.
That verse was prophetic..irony of ironies.
LOL... Sorry All... I had to laugh at the way this is put.

It is true that if by "ceased" it means "No longer functions in the church" and some claim this to be the case in their own churches...then they are indeed claiming that all 3 have ceased in their church...not just the 2 they HOPE it applies to.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

this forum does NOT sanction hyper-grace believers.... in fact, it is forbidden to even discuss it on this forum. Where do you get this stuff?
I just looked up hypergrace and it sounds it's once you get saved you're in heaven from that point on no matter what you do .. Is that what it is ?

You never asked me why I am against the pentecostal/charismatic doctrines. F.e. would you agree that childbaptism saves the child, ore to pray to Mary for to get Help?
I know charismatics who claimes they have the Holy Spirit and all the gifts. BUT defend the RCC theologie.
And you ask me why I am not agree?
This is only one point. But I can list it to you if you cant.
In the same way I would not agree, if someone claimes that only if you are covered with water in your waterbaptism are you Worth to take the Lords supper. If someone is baptised and be sprenkled because of his witness, he is no less worth to take the Lords supper.
And so you can find some strange doctrines in Christian churches.
I don't even think the RCC doctrines are even Christian and I think it was Simon the Sorcerer who had a major influence on the RCC Pagan religion .. I don't think St Peter was ever even in Rome .. I do believe we are to beware of wolves in sheep's clothing and that there are wheat and tares everywhere in all the real churches..

I think that is part of it.

It is not the point. The point is that people come and tell you, you need to have the Gift of speaking in tongues, otherwise you are not a real Christian. This is false teaching. Ore people come and say Jesus heals you from your sickness, you need only faith. And of you stay sick its because of your lack on faith. This is false teaching.
I know that I dont need to speak in tongues. I know that if I stay sick it is not because of lack on faith. But many are deceived and brought in pressure because of those false teachings.

Once again, it's Holiness Pentecostals that teach you must speak in tongues to be saved. Mainstream Pentecostals don't believe that. Nor does the Bible say that.

I mean people, also in C C who told me, of course you are saved, but to be a real Christian you need the Gift of speaking in tongues. I cant find this teaching taught in the NT that every Christian has to speak in tongues ore was speaking in tongues.

I'm not going to bother deleting my second comment, didn't realize I had made one to you already. I don't know who you talked to on CC, so I can't account for their comments. Mainstream Pentecostals do not teach you're not a real Christian unless you speak in tongues.

Maby, we mean different things with real?
I mean it not in sense of not saved. I mean it in the sense of, something you are lacking. And so long do you not have it, you are not a full Christian. So long I do not speakin tongues I dont have the baptism with the Holy Spirit. So I lack something important for my Christian life.
Sorry this teaching I dont find in bible.

I dont want say the name of this Person. But she told me that. When I became Christian long time ago I met also people from the church of God and became friends with them.
But the told me that I have to speak in tongues for to get a better relationship to God. I must not have it, but it would be better if I have it. So I prayed about this issue, is it from God ore not? Anyhow I could not see that this would be right. Later I lost the contact to my friends.

If I take that question as honest, perhaps I do only have one, but I don't think it's the same as the definition I think you have been using. That's why I was asking for clarification of your definition.

The definition I use is similar to Webster's definition #1 which means to be set aside, delivered or protected but the length of time is not necessarily eternal...although it can be.

If the definition you use automatically assumes that "saved"= eternally, then it is either inaccurate, or needs a second definition to cover several of the usages in the Old Testament as well as at least a few in the new testament. (Exodus 1:17 and 1 Peter 3:20 for examples.)

Love in Jesus,
Kelby
I am not sure I understand your question but the definition of the word saved has nothing to do with Webster but eh context of the Authorial intent Found where it is used contextually from the Greek word of the Hebrew word for "saved"

in the Greek "saved" is sōtēria from the context in Roman 10:9-10
means: deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation as the present possession of all true Christians

it is in verse 13 of Roman 10 which says :

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The word saved here is Sozo in the Greek which means: to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction

The wording Shall be saved means They will be saved all those who Call on the name of Jesus. It is absolute. not a possibility.

I was going off what Church Fathers claimed and from the Catechism that claims up to the 4th Century they were Baptizing in Jesus Name only.
I would suggest the church Fathers understood the term also " in the name of " that is an ole English term coined to ask one " by what authority do you do this or who sent you?

Garee how do you think you could explain something you haven't experienced, I can't even hardly explain it and I've experienced the things you speak against ..
Thanks for the reply.

We must be careful how we hear or see.

I would offer. Experience is not the validator of spiritual unseen truth . All things written in the law and prophets is the perfect witnesses of God . It as it is written is that validator.

The sky is open to endless opportunities of the father of lies . A legion of lying spirts that bring wonderment for some to marvel. And God sends a strong delusion so that might beleive the lie. But Christ reminds us to wonder or marvel not but rather believe the word. It I think brings a peace that surpasses wonderment as a living hope.

The Son of man, Jesus at the beginning of his ministry was given what some might call today a out of the body experiences. Which is simply the father of lies bringing into the fleshly mind of Jesus an illusion as a vision or day dream . Jesus prophesied and spoke the words the father gave him to rebuke the father of lies. Three times he gave those the powerful words again and and again as it is written. We do not know the things of the Holy Spirit after the experiences we have in these bodies of death.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Mathew 4:7-11

The Colossian 2 account can be compared to Mathew 4 it gives it from another perspective same kind of deception.. The version I am using EVR it says it directly. The King James a little differently. Sometimes the voice of God can be sarcastic. . tear at the flesh get under the skin kind. Or a wake up torn in the side.

Some people enjoy acting as if they are humble and love to worship angels. They always talk about the visions they have seen. Don’t listen to them when they say you are wrong because you don’t do these things. It is so foolish for them to feel such pride, because it is all based on their own human ideas. Colossiains2:18 EVR

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, "vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind", Colossiains2:18 KJ

Well, I personally don't believe that. If it's not something you believe in or wish to seek that's between you and God. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

I'd do a lot in my Christian life, even my married life,if I listened to well meaning friends. Some of the suggestions could be right, some could be wrong. That's why my relationship is between me and God. I don't go to family or friends for marriage advice. People mean well but are seldom right.

That’s not possible; Simon Magus died 800-900 years before the RCC was founded. His false religion of Simonianism died out in the late 300s AD.

That would certainly leave out Simon Peter if they say he's the one was the first Pope of that bogus church

It’s likely that Linus was the head of the first Roman church. Much of what you find objectionable in the Roman Catholic Church is very young, relatively speaking...much of it coming within the few hundred years before and after Trent, some of it as recent as 200 years ago.
