According to popular Christian belief the holy spirit was with that council and it influenced their every thought and action to provide the perfect book.
We know the practices of the Catholics and since day one have been well known for being child molestors.
Do we really believe they were full of the Holy Spirit? I do not. And let's never forget the Pagan Constantine who only became a Christian so he would escape death never really was a Believer at all. Those are Historical Facts!

the word meek has a meaning of reining in a strong stallion.
so, Jesus was referring to prov. 16 32.
do not trust in riches- prov. 11 28.
