What I do not understand about the coronavirus, and Trump saying we may re-open in May is this.
The regular flu has been around for years, and every year the vast minority get the flu compared to all the people there is in America.
The current 2019-2020 flu season is on track to be one of the worst in a decade. According to the CDC, between 19 million to 26 million have caught the flu since October and between 10,000-25,000 people have died. But as bad as the seasonal flu is this year, it pales in comparison to some of the biggest flu pandemics in history, and that is because they were new flu pandemics, or the flu in early stages which the people have not come across it yet., or the flu that has not hit a certain area yet.
At least 14,000 people have died and 250,000 have already been hospitalized during the 2019-2020 flu season
That is a lot of people but is small compared to all the people in America where there is about 329.45 million people.
The flu has been around for years and still only affects a small number of people compared to all the people in America, and they have built up an immune system to beat it, and the vast majority do not get it.
But the coronavirus is a new strain of the flu that they say they have never dealt with before, and worse than the flu, and they do not have a vaccine for it, and do not quite understand it, and cannot get a handle on it as of yet.
So all people in America have never encountered this virus before, and they say that a person can have it but not show signs but infect other people.
So since it is new how can it peak out, or lose effectiveness in May that we can re-open when it would seem like the coronavirus would not be done affecting people for it has not reached all people at that time.
It would seem like since it is a new strain that it would eventually keep going until it affected everyone whether they overcame it or not for their bodies never encountered it to be able to stop it.
And since they say a person can have it but not show signs and give it to others, and the coronavirus has not reached all people yet, how can we re-open in May when the coronavirus would still be going strong for how could it level off under these conditions.
How can the coronavirus be under control enough for America to re-open in May when it should still be going strong for quite a while, as well as in the world for there is still the vast majority that has not encountered it yet.
If they re-open in May then I will say it is more of a fact that is was exaggerated, and it was not that bad, or something else was making them sick and they were blaming it on the coronavirus.
If the coronavirus did this much damage of affecting people and the vast majority have not encountered the coronavirus, and it is a new strain that they have not dealt with and worse than the flu, then how can we re-open in May.
And if a person can be affected but not affect another person so they can be out there affecting people and would not know it which could be hundreds of millions of people, then how can we re-open in May.
For the coronavirus would be still be going strong as it did when it first started for it is a new strain of the flu they have not dealt with before.
Unless the coronavirus loses strength as it goes along so after a while it does not have any effectiveness at all, or very little to where people do not die.
If we have not encountered this new strain before and it has already affected many people, but it has not reached everybody yet and it is a virus their body never encountered before then how can we re-open in May.
For it would seem like the virus would still be going strong as it was when it first started and there is the vast majority that has not encountered it yet.
So if they are going to say shut down, save lives, then re-open in May then what about all those lives that have not encountered the coronavirus which is the vast majority do they not care about their lives.
Or are they going to say being shut down is not the solution, and an economic collapse would be worse, so we have to take the chance.
Herd immunity.
The resistance to the spread of a contagious disease within a population that results if a sufficiently high proportion of individuals are immune to the disease, especially through vaccination.
This is not speaking of everyone getting a vaccination but only those affected by the disease that if there is a high number of people that have built up an immunity the chances of other people getting the disease is less.
But a high number of people do not have the coronavirus in America that they know of to give a vaccine so they can build up an immunity to lessen the chances that much of other people getting it, and since they say a person can have it but not have symptoms and spread it they would not know who has it to give them a vaccine.
So will they make everybody get the vaccination for the coronavirus when they come up with it for they would not know who has it or not.
And what really will be in that vaccination.
Was there really a coronavirus, or was there but did they used it for this purpose to give a vaccination to all Americans.
Is that the only way we can re-open is if everybody takes a vaccination which many people will do for they want to get this economy going again.
But I do not know about that, but some people think it is going to happen.
