I really don’t like getting caught up in the discussion about whether the virus is a little threat a medium threat or a gigantic threat. It is an irrelevant point for me.

The moment you go down that quagmire the most vital point is missing. I believe our Canadian, and European friends do not understand just how sacred many Americans view freedom and our Constitution.

Well known patriotic axioms like “Give me liberty or give me death” is strange to their ears.

So if we agree that one death nationally would never constitute the destruction of our freedom, economy, and sanity, what IS the number of deaths that would constitute losing those things?

And if we agree on an arbitrary number, say 200,000 for sake of argument, why wouldn’t that be enumerated in our Constitution, or at the least a submission of such an amendment?Otherwise we are governed like every other nation in history. By the whims of men and their “experts”.

Just wondering what freedoms have been "permanently" revoked so far?

So how do we know that a loss of permanent freedom will be the result of this pandemic?

How far does individual liberty of freedom of assembly and freedom of movement allowed when the death of another (or many) can be the result?

Do our individual liberties give us the freedom to act irresponsibly and put the lives of doctors, nurses front line workers in jeopardy?

Why is a country like Japan able to act in concert to preserve life (we are in this together) and then come back out not worrying about their constitutional rights which they do have as well.

These are not black and white questions and they are real problems.

Some on here (not you) are willing to go to the extreme of calling it a hoax rather than deal with the true real questions.

As well, history repeats and during the Spanish Flu ... the right of assembly was also suspended.

Eleventhhour judges this above as boring?Someone who actually does know what they're talking about when making all manner of cuts on other people's perspective about this virus wouldn't do that.
And cutting the intellectual property of other peoples papers concerning virus and all manner of contagion and putting it in a post isn't proof of having an education in virology. It's proof of being a really lame thief and plagiarist.

I am never disappointed by certain types of people whose anger issues come to the surface when someone disagrees with them

staying home is not a good idea in this case. energy is diverted into anger. too bad
