I just read that the state of Florida has reported thirteen deaths to children under the age of 5 to infection....but not to the Coronavirus, but rather to the hum drum boring old flu. How is this not newsworthy??? When the very first known incident of what is known as pediatric death due to covid-19 occured a couple days back it was world wide news. But 13 deaths in just one state is ignored???
And fatalities of this nature from the flu are not uncommon....they happen in similar numbers every year.

If one can justify putting the enconomy into a coma to save lives from coronavirus, why not when as many as 61,000 Americans die from influenza each and every year....especially with many of the deaths being very young children. Does it only matter if its a new virus???

Death is a part of living....people die every day, probably 1+million each and every day world wide. Are there things we could do to lessen the toll? Certainly....30,000 or so Americans die each year in car accidents, and that is tragic. Should the United States restrict all non-essential driving to lessen the toll?

I'm convinced the actions being taken are going to be worse than if nothing had been done....increased suicides and bankruptcies, domestic violence and divorce, substance abuse.....the list is too big.

Praying everyone is well and safe, God Bless

I have never had a flu vaccine...MMR, tetnas and the rest, yes. And I have had the flu, it knocked me on my keister about 8 years ago, the fist day was horrible, the second day I was on the mend...day 3 I was back to work.

When the covid-19 vaccine comes out forget it. Maybe when I get to 70+, or if I develop diabetes or a similar condition...but otherwise, i will pass. Watch them try and make in mandatory....in Canada I can see that happening, in the United States no way.

It is scary the toll is taking on our economy. I wonder, will we recover? How many businesses will have to permanently shut down. How many whose retirement savings and security has been wiped out? How many lives may be threatened because of economical devastation. What will happen if many lose their homes. I may lose mine.

HOWEVER.. we have to be good stewards of the vulnerable. What do we do, just let the shoes drop where they may.? What about the impact this would have on the hospitals? It is a scales thing right? It is a tough situation for ALL, either way.

No matter what, God is in control! I take so much comfort in this truth!!!

I hope you all are well in all ways. I know it is challenging in all ways.

There is something we can do besides pray and social distance. We can all give blood. Red cross is asking us to help.
Just to let you know, not everyone can donate blood. I cannot because my Rheumatoid Arthritis might trigger someone else to get RA, and because of the meds, which are strong cancer drugs. I can't donate organs, but hopefully my body can be donated to science or to med students, who can see all my deformities and damage, and understand what a serious disease RA is.

Judging and blaming everyone for everything is not christian like either. Best to keep quiet and pray. You will achieve alot more for the world that way.

That's fine for healthy people like you, but what about people like me, and my 90 year old mother? (She's actually healthier than me!) Do we deserve to have to stay locked up the rest of our lives, so we won't get this disease that is killing immunocompromised people? Although, I worry more about my grandchildren who have one parent who is a doctor, and they are in the hospital daily, fighting this virus. Will my grandchildren die, because money is more important than people?

And then remember, healthy young people, people in their 20s, 30s 40s and 50s are dying of this disease too. Wouldn't it be ironical if I ended up coming through this safely, because I was careful about being isolated, whereas you went out, caught it and died? Maybe because their weren't enough ventilators, because they were all being used? Not that I want that to happen to anyone!

I don't like scare tactics, I confess. But, neither do I agree that we should just live our lives as normal, open up businesses, and everything else, because then really a lot of people will die.
Even people with mild cases loose up to 30 percent of their longue volume.

You are so right. I know a couple of ladies who want to, but like you, can not. RA is serious and so painful too. I am sorry for that has to be so hard to live with, day in and day out.

Stress is a slient killer, it weakens our immune system making us more prone to disease. Right now the way most media outlets are reporting on coronavirus, its designed to increase fear, anxiety and stress....and drive ratings. Hyperbolic messaging with scary sounding words and eerie music in the background.

Here's a new video with none of that, just simple facts. I've verified what I can in terms of the numbers being presented and everything I've seen checks out. How bad is this coronavirus pandemic? When all is said and done things might not be that bad.....if you're young and otherwise healthy, this will help you take a deep breath and relax. If you're older and/or with an underlying health condition...then vigilance is very much needed, but try to remain calm and breathe.

Would love to read some comments, especially from those succumbing to fear and all the doom and gloom reporting:

Be blessed all, our lives our not our own, we belong body and soul to Him

Thomas Sowell often says, "There are no solutions, there are only trade-offs."

Too many people think in terms of zero-sum. Keep businesses open and most people will surely die of the disease. But what of the death caused by economic depression with all its stressors? There are some well-verified stats indicating a statistical correlation and they typically out-do even the more morose COVID19 statistics.

So that has to be taken into consideration. Then there are questions on the meaning of life itself which are not altogether separate. Our jobs and associations are important in more ways than one- they give us a purpose, a community, and an exchange of goods and services that bless individuals and families. Basic social interaction, including touch, is extremely important to authentic happiness. Being clinically depressed in an environment like this must feel like one of Dante's circles.

I think the one thing we can draw from the hysteria and hyperbole is that people do not have a vision that integrates the whole of life. With a vision that accounts for the one and the many, we find the happy and forgotten virtue of prudence. Prudence would tell us we can't engineer out of every crisis. We have to weigh decisions wisely and understand the relative costs. Maybe we should save lives and bravely display the "open" sign instead of living in fear.

I honestly believe part of the bigger agenda is to lead people away from god and these highly paid actors/actresses are a part of that.
If that is their purpose for joining, and especially those who name themselves after the virus, they're silliness outweighs their potential of success. It's a Christian forum and they think they're going to lead us away from what brought us here?
They're also bad at math! Outnumbered how many to one or two? That would make them the heretics wouldn't it?

Oh the irony......

Britain, France, Germany and the United States censored and restricted early reports of the Spanish Flu (which did not originate in Spain), however Spain neutral in the war – was free to convey all the horrid details of the pandemic.

it's a good thing when God decides to 'open our eyes' to the present 'evil that is surrounding us' -
GAL. 1:4.
Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world,
according to the will of God and our Father:
ROM. 3:12.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

THY KINGDOM come, THY KINGDOM COME'...
ISA. 32:17.
(((And The Work of Righteousness shall be Peace; and the effect of Righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.)))
how beautiful are these words???

I presume this is the face they make having run out of TP, and blaming everyone here as though we are the ones who have hoarded it in panic.

Yes it is - but it is not good to spend our lives bitterly trying to find out every evil. 'whatever is good, think on those things' - because His will for us is to be thankful in all things ;)

For example how many families are spending much more time with each other now? How many people who were proud in themselves are looking to God to preserve them now?
This isn't just a bunch of bad consequences. There are many things that I am grateful about in these present circumstances :)
