Is it possible to come back to God after backsliding, living in sin and even mocking God at times or am I damned to hell?

Hey.. now I will say up front some MIGHT talk about Heb 6/10 but there is so much more to those verses that do not apply to you.

Christ will leave the 99 to get the ONE! And is written if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness. We are in the Fathers eyes righteous because we believe in Jesus. Not by how good we are or if we never sin. As Paul said.. "
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Your a new creation which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. This is a battle we have. The pain in all this is the fact He forgives you. Its to easy.. to simple. We NEED to be judged punished. The pain is HE took it all when we KNOW He did nothing wrong.

So.. its over.. He died and rose already. So.. repent.. forgive your self.. in other words.. get up dust off and keep going. KNOW that when you repent. KNOW He forgives you. DONT GO BY FEELINGS! Walk by faith.. He loves you. Just do a 180.. every time you fall .. RUN TO HIM! He has never once let you go no matter how you FEEL HEAR SEE! Your free!

Yes, we are saved through faith and believing on Jesus Christ alone. Repent and ask forgiveness....by His grace and Jesus’ shed blood you are cleansed of your sins.

Once in Christ always in Christ!
All you have to do is repent, which is the same as expressing sincere remorse for what you've done. God is everywhere so it isn't as if you've done anything in secret that he's unaware of. The point of repentance is to feel genuine remorse for what you know in your heart is not what God wants for you. Not for you or how you live.
You're not damned to hell. You can repent in a silent prayer to God. You can take a walk where you feel most at peace. The beach, a park, wherever you feel safe and at peace and talk to God. You can do it right there where you are. God will never let go of you. You've been reborn when you asked Jesus into your life however long ago.
You were no longer who you once were. And you are still that reborn person today. You slipped. It happens. God doesn't turn away from you when he died to save you.

Love yourself. God does.
Don't get down on yourself. God thought you were to die for. See what I did there? Seriously, he's right there waiting for you to stop hating yourself and give it all to him. He said, he will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust that. He meant every word.
I wish you all the best.

I have done all of those things that you have mentioned. No, you are not damned to hell. Tell God that you are sorry and ask for His help in living the life that He would have for you. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

I came to the truth about 16 years ago but have only ever been lukewarm Christian at best even though in my heart I want to be more. I lived in habitual sin for all that time and I’m still chained by sin if I’m honest. There has been no change of heart in me either which I think proves I am not saved. Thanks for the reply :)

I’ve asked God to come into my life on a daily basis but don’t feel any presence as I once did when I first came to the truth 16 years ago. I’ve only ever been a lukewarm Christian at best and I’m an habitual sinner to say the least. Thanks for the welcome :)

Thank you for replying. I repent every day in the sense of asking for forgiveness but keep making the same mistakes all the time which proberbly makes my prayers worthless. I feel as though I have offended God and He has forsaken me. I don’t feel reborn if I’m honest which i know is a sign of been unsaved, I’m still the same person is was when I first came to the truth, maybe even worse. Please pray for me!

You can read Romans 5:12-19 to be reassured.

Someone who came from the first Adam, cannot backslide from the devil, by doing good deeds.

What's more, someone like you who believed that Jesus rose from the dead, cannot backslide from him, by being lukewarm.

No, I want to be though but that is a supernatural act of the Holy Spirit and out of my control
Thank you for your honesty. I agree with you. It IS a supernatural act. The Holy Spirit will "quicken" you as a response to the Gospel unto Salvation. Here it is:

THE Gospel unto Salvation:
God wrapped Himself in human flesh in the form of His Son, Jesus the Messiah. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. He suffered, was crucified, and died to pay OUR sin debt. He was raised to life from the grave to prove He had defeated death. If you confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that His Father resurrected Him to Life on the 3rd day, you WILL be saved. You will be filled, and sealed with the Holy Spirit, who will empower ALL to turn from their sins. The sin of adultery, lying, stealing, homosexuality, gossip, slander, drunkenness, covetousness, etc... And most importantly the sin of DEAD works, or a moral life in an attempt to EARN Salvation. He will also equip you to love like He did and do good works for HIS Glory.

I have since I read your opening post.
My daughter found this exercise that is suppose to help with a sense of self worth and helps in gaining self confidence. I would have sent it to you in a private conversation but it appears you have to pay for a membership so as to communicate that way here.
She found the exercise just looking for, Louise Hay Mirror Work. She said there are videos about this too. It helped her tremendously when she was being bullied at school shortly after her mom and me separated.
I called her after I read your reply because I knew she had done some kind of self-help exercise back then but couldn't recall what its title was or where she found it. I was so impressed I gave it a shot later on.

Sometimes, what we feel about ourselves makes us think no one could possibly love that. Much less God. After all we know our own dirty little secrets better than anyone. And we know how we feel about ourselves. Our sense of who we are affects everything about our life.
I think you should know too and likely do but maybe forgot? God knows you inside and out. He made you. And you are made, as are all things, as a resemblance of God because everything is from God its creator.

Making the same mistakes doesn't mean your prayers are worthless. You're talking to God. That isn't worthless that's worth while.
I use to do the same thing in making mistakes. Different day same sort of mistake only not exactly so. Then I started to pay attention to that pattern.
This may help you. I hope so because it worked for me.
I paid attention to the pattern of mistakes by paying attention to what I was doing that ended up being a mistake. When I found myself repeating that same thing with near the same result, I started to ask myself what is it I'm not seeing? What am I suppose to learn not to do here?
Because that's what we end up calling our mistake, right? If not, that's OK too. I was repeating the same behavior and expecting a different outcome. Which was ridiculous. But it wasn't precisely the same behavior. It was a behavior that had a starting point in my thought about how to do something. And then I built on that with my own actions trying to make that thought into a reality. If that makes sense to you.
Busted by backside every time. Then hard head here got the point. Next time, when that starting point opportunity showed up again, I remembered exactly what my prior steps had been that led to failure and feeling like crap. And I did something totally different. Something that turns out was totally against my nature. Which is where I think we get into trouble and is what is behind what you call, repeating the same mistakes. Our nature tells us we got this. Even when the outcome says, not even close pal!

My daughter keeps a journal. She got that from my wife who does the same thing. I've never been big into diary's myself but I've seen how it helps them. Me, I just keep things cataloged in my head. But for them it helps to keep a record of their thoughts and whatnot. That way they can keep track of their progress or realize where they need more work on any given issue or thing in life.

Maybe that will work for you. Maybe it can be a sort of letter to God too. Write down what you're feeling, what you feel failed at. Maybe see if you're not led to write your own answer that isn't maybe even your thoughts but is God answering that prayer in that way right there in the journal.
Some people call that automatic writing. It has a bad reputation due to people thinking bad things about that. However, who's to say how God works? Maybe when we pray and then start writing things down , even if they're addressed to

I’ve confessed Jesus as Lord countless times and believe in my heart that He was raised on the 3rd day but there has still been no changing of the heart or been born again I’m sorry to say. When I first said the sinners prayer 16 years ago I felt Gods presence and have a few other times since, one time even hearing His powerful but peaceful voice in a dream with no picture just the voice telling me to stop misinterpreting the Bible but there has never been no born again experience for me. Please pray for me.

I lived as lukewarm for a long time. It took some serious life events and a spiritual intervention to turn me around. Do all you can because it is better than the spiritual 2x4.

Stop searching for a feeling. Being born again is a fact to the one who has turned to God, asked for forgiveness and trusted in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for your sins. Have you’ve done that? If yes, Scripture says you are born again and have eternal life. Search the scriptures daily and stop searching for feelings. Sometimes I don’t feel like I’m saved, but Scripture reminds me that I am. God bless.
