Read Romans 5. Paul explains it completely. In essence, Adam flunked God's test on behalf of himself and his children. Proving we are a corrupt species. But Jesus passed the test proving his sinlessness on behalf of himself and his children. So based on that God considers believers as perfect as Christ. And saves us from Adam's and our own sins.

Original sin is a big catholic tenet. Original sin allows them to promote infant baptism as a remedy for original sin. Without infant baptism infants who die are condemned according to them.

What we have is a corrupted body of flesh. We are born into a body of flesh that is weak and will, given the opportunity succumb to sin. A question of great controversy is at what age does God impute sin? At what age do we become responsible for our sin?

God said that everybody is responsible for their own sins and we are not guilty for the sins of other people.

Adam and Eve committed a sin by eating off the tree which is a sin like someone else would commit a sin that is against God's commandments.

We are not responsible for the sin of Adam and Eve because that is their sin not our sin, so the guilt of that sin would not come upon their offspring.

So we are born without the guilt of the sin of Adam and Eve, so we are born innocent.

Which the angels always behold the face of the Father for the little ones, because they are protected spiritually until the age of accountability when they know right from wrong clearly.

Adam and Eve were created knowing God and having a relationship with Him, and because of that it would of never entered their mind to eat of the tree unless an outside source tempted them for they would always go by the ways of God of what He told them, and could see no other choice.

So God allowed Satan to tempt Eve and she said they could not eat from the tree for that is all she could know and think, so Satan tempted her with an alternate reality that God did not tell them that if they ate from the tree they would be as gods knowing good and evil which they would have an elevated position and could determine what they wanted to do being their own authority.

Then Eve sinned, and then Eve was the outside source that tempted Adam by showing him she did not die, and nothing bad happened to her, and he sinned.

Then their eyes were opened and they knew they were naked which they knew they did wrong, and made aprons of fig leaves to cover up their sin, which was their attempt to cover up their shame but God covered them fully with coats of skins for their attempt to cover their guilt, and be forgiven was not enough.

Then they had a choice between good and evil and would have to determine what action they wanted to take, so all their offspring are born with a choice not knowing God and Eve is the mother of all living.

Since we are born with a choice we are born not knowing God so we will do wrong before we do right and follow God, so all have sinned, done the act, not born with it, and come short of the glory of God.

The sin of Adam and Eve does not come upon their offspring, but all people are born with a choice so we are born not knowing God, so we will go by our ways first before we acknowledge the truth and follow God not wanting to sin, and obeying His commandments.

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Heb 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

The children who are not at the age of accountability yet their angels always behold the face of the Father for the little ones.

The Bible calls the children's angels, their angels, and angels are only sent to those that shall inherit eternal life.

And Jesus said it is not the will of the Father that any of the little ones perish.

Which is why it is such an offence to offend a small child for they are innocent and makes that sin so much worse than offending a person at the age of accountability.

Babies are born innocent for the sin of Adam and Eve does not come upon them, but they will eventually sin that is on their record at the age of accountability for they are born not knowing God so they will do wrong before they do right and follow God.

how long does it take before an infant covets?
where does that covetousness come from - do they learn it? is it in them without being taught?

those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

Yes, you’re right @elizabeth19 we are born in the likeness of Adam, to die in sin less we are redeemed. That “preacher” must be confused or deceived.

From Adam to Noah
Gen 5:1-3 This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created. 3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—

We are born with a sinful nature, and we inherited it from Adam. “Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people” (Romans 5:12). Every one of us was affected by Adam’s sin; there are no exceptions. “One trespass resulted in condemnation for all people” (verse 18). We are all sinners, and we all share the same condemnation, because we are all children of Adam.

Scripture indicates that even children have a sin nature, which argues for the fact that we are born sinners. “Folly is bound up in the heart of a child” (Proverbs 22:15). David says, “Surely I was sinful at birth, / sinful from the time my mother conceived me” (Psalm 51:5). “Even from birth the wicked go astray; / from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies” (Psalm 58:3).

Before we were saved, “we were by nature deserving of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3). Note that we deserved God’s wrath not only because of our actions but because of our nature. That nature is what we inherited from Adam.

This is what I know. And the way of catholics baptizing babies, with the reason of inheriting the original sin, that is not what we--in my church exercises and believes..

And the question about what age are we accountable of our sins, we know it is not based on the age. Here I have taken paragraphs on a page regarding this..
_________________
There is no "age of accountability" identified in Scripture, as such. There is nothing in the Bible that says, "Here is the age and from here on you are responsible!" I think the reason for that is because children mature at different paces. That would be true from culture to culture, and from age to age in history.

So the Lord in His wisdom didn't identify a specific moment. God knows when each soul is accountable. God knows when real rejection has taken place; when the love of sin exists in the heart. When enmity with God is conscious and willful. God alone knows when that occurs.

Some have to deny “original sin” and the depravity of man because it doesn’t align with their free will heresy.

Re: We did inherit the original sin, didnt we?

It's not inherited, rather, it's imputed. Let me explain.

Eve was the first to taste the forbidden fruit. Nothing happened; she went
right on just as naked and unashamed as before. It wasn't till Adam tasted
the fruit that she became uncomfortable in the nude.

Now the thing is; Adam didn't taste the fruit till some time after Eve was
born, so it was not possible for him to pass his sin on to her by procreation.

FAQ: According to Jer 31:29-30 and Ezek 18:20, the father's guilt is not laid
to the account of his posterity for the evil he has done. So then, how was it
legal for God to condemn the entire human race to death for what Adam
did?

A: According to Deut 5:1-3, Rom 4:15, Rom 5:13, and Gal 3:17, the laws of
God aren't retroactive. So at the time of the forbidden fruit incident, God
was at liberty to impute the guilt of Adam's transgression to his entire
posterity, which of course began with Eve seeing as how according to Gen
2:21-23, her flesh and bones were made of his flesh and bones. In effect;
Eve was Adam's first child.

Exactly a catch phrase "original sin" used to divide the wage of sin under the control of the church in order to complete the purgatory addition that does make grace without effect.. Limbo was removed from the equation .

No such things as artificial sin or temporal sin.
