Notice, in contrast to John the Baptist, the apostate woman of Revelation 17, and what she drinks and offers to others, and what 'spirit' she/they are filled with:

Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

I understand just fine, having studied the matter from Genesis to Revelation. If you would carefully read my answer about Hannah, I already stated that Eli was speaking about the wine of Belial, not the wine of God.

Notice Daniel and the mention of the "wine" of Belial (Baal):

Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
You and I are to be "Kings" under the KING OF KINGS, and yet notice another type of King and the "wine" which he drank:
Dan 5:1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
Dan 5:2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Dan 5:3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
Dan 5:4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

The same judgment is upon the wall, for all like him. They will drink of another wine yet still that God has for prepared them. Notice that the vessels of the Lord were never to have any dissipation in them, but were to always be filled with the pure blood of the grape.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. John 15:1
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:3
Was the wine that Jesus made at the wedding at Cana alcoholic or not? The definition of the word wine states specifically that it is an alcoholic drink. The Greek word for the wine that Jesus made from water is oinos and that denotes that the wine was alcoholic.

Notice how John the Baptist was to be filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
The Anti-typical 'John the Baptist', the 'last Elijah' messenger, will be the same, for as John the Baptist heralded the first advent, so too the final messengers (Revelation 14:6-12) likewise herald the second/third Advents.
If the word wine in the bible actually means grape juice then why was John the Baptist prohibited from drinking it?

Already shown that "oinos" (wine) can be either alcoholic (Mark 15:23; Ephesians 5:18; Revelation 14:8, 17:2, 18:3) or without (juice of the grape, fruit of the vine; Matthew 9:17; Mark 2:22, Luke 5:37-38; John 2:3,9,10, 4:46; Revelation 6:6) - https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...-to-drink-alcohol.191061/page-11#post-4200891

Wine [ Strong's G3631 ]: Greek Transliterated: oinos; Greek: οἶνος - commonly translated into the English: “wine”. “A primary word or perhaps from H3196 [ yayin יַיִן wine ]” 32 times “wine”, 1 times “winepress” [+ 3125]

Matthew 9:17;

Mark 2:22, 15:23;

Luke 1:15, 5:37,38, 7:33, 10:34;

John 2:3,9,10, 4:46;

Romans 14:21;

Ephesians 5:18;

1 Timothy 3:8, 5:23;

Titus 2:3;

Revelation 6:6, 14:8,10, 16:19, 17:2, 18:3,13, 19:15.

The word "wine" points to two 'kinds', not just one. It does not only mean grape juice, and it does not only mean alcoholic content. John the Baptist was to be like the nazarite, for he was to not to appear as the "true Vine", but to point to Him who was. John the Baptist, had a message of repentance and sorrow (not joy) for sin. Jesus was to come with the good news of the Gospel, the rejoicing. There is more, but if you ask God, to show you in scripture, He will.

They which drink alcohol, will be blind even as they (Pharisees, who claimed not to be blind, as Laodicea), and this no small danger, for the blind will fall into a ditch, and the spiritual ditch is the very Whore of Babylon – Rome, whose wine is intoxicating [in both actually Golden cup and in her doctrine], and they will do the will of Rome, and teach their doctrines and receive of their mark:

Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? Matthew 15:12
But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Matthew 15:13 (are you of the Vine Christ Jesus, or of the Vine of Sodom?)
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matthew 15:14 (see Isaiah 28, the priests and prophets became blind, could not see, through the wrong "wine")
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? Luke 6:39
For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. Proverbs 23:27
She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men. Proverbs 23:28
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? Proverbs 23:29 [babbling, Babylon]
They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Proverbs 23:30
Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. Proverbs 23:31
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Proverbs 23:32
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Proverbs 23:33
Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. Proverbs 23:34
They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again. Proverbs 23:35
And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: Revelation 17:1
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. Revelation 17:2
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. Revelation 17:3
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: Revelation 17:4
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17:5

Did you notice that the Great Whore has harlot daughters, that teach as she does, and are like her in doctrines of traditions and practices, in hypocrisy and blasphemies? Beware of the wine which she has in her cup, for that which she giveth, she will receive double from the LORD [Revelation 18:6]:

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21 (there are two cups, and that which is in them, as different as night and day, evil and good, bitter and sweet, sin and righteousness)
Take the Cup of Salvation from the hand of the Lord, and pass from the cup of sin and iniquity from the hand of the other:

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Psalms 116:13

There is no one who hates alcoholism any more than me .. My father was an alcoholic and very abusive, run around on ma , when I was young I thought my name was g-ddam-t until I started school and a couple times he would take me and make me fight other little kids of his drunk friends , I felt so sorry for those other little kids .. He always worked sober, but when he was off weekends never sober .. That being said I can't see in the Word where Jesus being called a ''winebibber'' or any other instance meant non-alcoholic .. I don't normally drink and would never around someone who opposed but I can't forbid it unless some one abuses or uses it as occasion to sin .. When I said I've taken a beer when witnessing it was to show those who I was witnessing to that I was not religious or there to condemn or invite them to a church but to speak the Gospel ..

I’m not even to look upon the wine when it is red? Pretty plain and simple.

I disagree , Jesus turned the water into wine at the wedding .. For years I believed the grape juice hype and was fine with it , but I came to the conclusion that I was wrong ..
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

If you’re right, Jesus made enough alcohol for everybody there to get drunk. Why would Jesus do this?

I do not. I am a health reformer, according to scripture, and thus I do not partake of pharmakeia. Most of that stuff (including aspirin) only injures the body, and the body then has a two fold enemy to fight, the infection, etc and the poison of pharmakeia. Many persons die from 'correctly' prescribed pharmakeia every year. I use the things God provided in nature for healing, food as medicine, herbs for the service of mankind, clay, etc.

See some here -

Fine, if you act in this way. But still you cant show scripture which forbits for a christian to drink alcohol. So it is no sin. As to answer the Op question.
For to fight against alcohol is good. For to avoid to drink alcohol is good. Warning to drink alcohol is needed.
But you cant say it is a sin to drink alcohol!

or without (juice of the grape, fruit of the vine; Matthew 9:17

the fact that 'new wine' must go into new wineskins, not old, proves that it is fermenting.

wine is wine. for 18 pages you've been posting things proven false 18 pages ago - why do you keep doing this?
you want us all to know how incorrigible you are, so you are compelled to continue demonstrating?
bro that is not necessary. rather, what is necessary is for you to come to a knowledge of the truth.

to manifest His glory, just as John 2:11 explicitly informs us.
failure to comprehend this doesn't make it not so.

it was a time of great rejoicing - so much so that the wine ran out! after 3 days, He renewed their joy, and the rejoicing in His gift was greater than the first!

why is that not clear?
it is not clear because we have 18 pages of a few people obstinately preaching as though the kingdom of God is a matter of food and drink, and what is coming out of them is desperately trying to twist scripture enough to judge others over what goes into them.
however it is not a matter of eating and drinking. Romans 14:17 is clear, to anyone who has understanding.

They which drink alcohol, will be blind
poor Timothy huh

No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.
i take it you think Paul is a false apostle? out to blind all of Christianity?
