Probably one for every one of the 30,000+ Protestant denominations and one pastor churches.
There aren't 30,000+ Protestant denominations. That's a gross exaggeration from a Catholic source.

Realistically, and honestly, it's more likely closer to a couple hundred....

If you love the word of God, wouldn't any teaching adding or subtracting from it make you upset?

Psalm 119:104

Through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

Acts 13:9-10

Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, you child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

As I read the scriptures over the years, and learned its truths, I began recognizing errors is many churches (of all varieties - Catholic, Protestant, Non-denominational, etc.).

Praise the Lord that I am free from every Christian sect that relies heavily on men's traditions!

John 8:31-32

If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Many professing christians are prisoner's of whatever tradition they have been raised up in and they can only escape it by hearing the word of God without the leaven of men.

the situation in Northern Ireland I observed there is that the protestants hate the catholics just as much as the catholics hate the protestants. If you ware walking down Shankill road...you need to be careful what side you are walking on.

Well, this has been very entertaining but the comments are comeing faster than I can reply to them so I'm done here.

It's been useful though - it's pointed out the trolls and anti-Catholics.

If anyone want's a serious discussion on a particular Catholic issue just start a thread and let me know.
I will be happy to try and explain.
There are Countless threads on this topic, already. Catholics constantly bombard this site and complain they are not accepted. And argue and spin in circles, yet also insist on staying.
My question is why are Catholics so desperately determined to align themselves with Protestant Christian's over and over? I see it on here all the time.

On this site, in one thread, I have seen the following comments abot Catholics and the Catholic Church

"...the current Pope is trying very hard to meld with Islam because he sees the profit potential".

"...on this protestant site, where the Official stance is "Catholic is not Christian""

"The Catholic Church does deny both Father and Son ... and the adherents have no clue of such."

"...the Vatican is a structure meant to be imposing to fend off enemies…there is no truth to be had in that institution."

"Both the roman catholic church and islam are evil religions and not of God"

"... the Eastern Orthodox Church which had broken away from the evil roman cathoic cult"

Not one of these statements was supported by a shred of evidence.
The thread by the way was another piece of anti-Catholic bigotry - "muslim-religion-started-by-catholic-church"
Good question when Jesus tells people they're to love both their enemy and their neighbor because Jesus' law is love.

I'd be careful walking down that road anyway. It has "Shank" and "kill" in the name. :p

Sorry Lanolin, couldn't pass it up. "To shank" means to kill somebody by stabbing him with a knife. I had to hit the pun. :sneaky:

Bede it is possible to hang out with a group of friends that you disagree about something with.

It is even possible to ignore somebody who is putting down something you believe is true. I do it all the time here on the forum.

We are not here to debate this (yet again.) We are here on this forum to hang out and chat. There are other forums for debating.

Yes I understand it hurts your feelings when people talk bad about Catholics. Some people here talk bad about some things I believe in... although not nearly as often as they put down Catholic beliefs. But I promise it can be overlooked.

The best thing I have found to do when somebody is denigrating something I believe, is to remember exactly how it feels... next time I want to disparage somebody else's beliefs.

It sure has cut down a lot on what I say about what other people believe.

One can and should hate Islam but love muslims..

One should hate catholicism and any other false religion that claims to be Christian.. But again they should love catholics..

I was once a catholic but upon reading the Bible ( I am thankful to the LORD that someone gave me a Bible to read) I renounced the false religion of roman catholicism.. did i then hate my mother and dad or some of my brothers and sisters because they where catholics ( and still are) NO.. I still love people in my family.. But i Hate with a passion the deception they are under and their loyalty to men and not to the Word of God..

I have already pointed to the denial of the sufficiency of the atonement of Jesus that catholicism declares with it's doctrine of purgatory in the other thread..

My reply here was to establish the fact that people can Hate what is evil and at the same time love those who are caught up in the web of deception that evil has them under..

I don't know why you posted that link.

What I'm expecting is for you to pick a topic where you disagree with Catholic teaching and explain why you disagree - in a new thread.
To defend your belief. Quite a few topics to pick from in that thread. Foundation attacks can be uncomfortable I understand by your hesitation to defend your beliefs. But that is the burden for the search of truth. Having the courage to face what is false within and the honesty to admit it. It goes beyond that though. Once admitted we must adopt what is true. I think honestly one must ask if the Bible canon of 66 books is the inspired Word of God because if so then if a belief or tradition isn't Biblical we can automatically rule it out.

This is a very reduced down view of the problems and the historic reasons for those problems.

Ah so THAT'S where that absurd number came from.

I wonder how he counted all of them... I wonder how long it took... I wonder how many new ones popped up before he finished!

I gave the OP a list of practices of the RCC so that he/she could show scriptural verification for them.... I've heard nothing but crickets. Just 3 or 4 things... If we are going to debate the validity of the RCC, we should rely on scripture, don't you think? Opinions, or rumors, or tribal knowledge should not be used. Scripture.

Again, the smell of troll is strong here....

Reminds me of the old saying, love the sinner hate the sin, which isn't in the bible. It is still hate.
What does God say about hate in the bible? And those who hate?
