I have never claimed to be a "super duper" anything and getting defensive is not going to move anything forward. I reacted directly to your post and your words, I am not sorry at all about it. I think what you were saying is close minded, offensive, ignorant, and completely unlike Jesus commands us to be. No matter what you say about me and my behavior can justify YOU being wrong here. Also check my comment history, I always name myself as one of the worst offenders and am quick to admit my faults and wrongs, apologize when called for, and try to learn and grow from the mistakes. Now you're trying to deflect from your own shortcomings by bashing things I've done and not only have I never denied them, but always openly admit them as wrong, and hate it about myself to be honest, but I face them in truth. Very unlike what you're doing here, and I call you to humble yourself and repent because you are not representing our King well at all here.

I'm trying to have a real discussion about these vital truths. I understand why you don't like what I said and wanted to lash out because you got called out, but we don't have to keep acting like kids and can move forward and speak about this. I can.

I have presented no "attitude", that's all projection by you. I said my piece about your childish manner above, so if you want to act like big boys (see I'm including myself here in case you miss the "s" in boy"s") then I will assume you believe the "Abomination of Desolation", to be a future event. That's a safe assumption, correct?

I also don't want to get too far ahead, but I assume you believe that scripture is closed, as in God has revealed everything and told us everything through Him that we need to be reconciled and made whole in Jesus right? I'm asking here, but do you believe scripture to be closed as far as and added revelation?

There I really just would like to be clear where you stand on these two issues before we move on, assuming you even want to speak about this with me any further. I will not insult or bring up any of the "crap" from before this point. I know I have been "mouthy" and am always direct on here, but I don't blame your shortcomings for them, or use them to justify myself. I even acknowledge the way I call people out sometimes, including you just now, is asking for nothing but conflict. I can't apologize for it because I meant every word, but I would really like to move forward without hard feelings if you want to continue this conversation or not. Either way know I do still like you even if you do call me all those names.
Keep dreaming pal....you called me out on nothing and you are a joke.....the above reeks of a lack of honesty and false allegation and assumption....everyone is always childish but YOU hahahahahahahahhahhahah what a joke!

I like you too...just not your double standard!

2 Thessalonians 2 King James Version (KJV)
2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I understand, and I disagree. I see no reason to think that "standing in the holy place" meant any place other than the holy place. :)
Dino....are you a preterist of some sort?

I'm not sure about the second coming. But I think if you have Jesus Christ in your life right now, it's like a second coming. Like, my life is really good right now with Jesus Christ in it. I know the second coming refers to a more physical coming of Christ. But either way, physical or non-physical, I'm loving Christ now and I feel like he's with me now because my life is so good. Peace and love from New Zealand.

I don't see the connection between what I wrote and your question. I was simply addressing the likely precision of Jesus' words.

You have it backwards friend. It is we who are "in Christ" Rom 8:1 ....not the other way around.

So no answer? Preterist or pre-trib premillenial?

The holy place can just mean the temple, he could have meant specifically what we know as THE holy place.

The point is that the text from Luke and Matt confirm the "desolation thereof" and "the abomination of desolation" were predicted for the generation that heard him speak. The "not one stone" motif applies to both and we know that the destruction of the temple occurred in the war or 66-70 AD.

The claim made that Jesus is speaking of another temple is refuted by the fact that Jesus was speaking about the then standing temple:

(Luke 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said)

(Luke 21:6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.)
. . . . .

(Luke 19:43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side)

(Luke 19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.)

He did say to Jerusalem "For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Math 23:39

Until........... indicates he will return under the right circumstances.
I'm a bit rusty on end times scriptures, but I remember several times we're told that Jesus will return at the request of the Jews :)

Hosea 5:15: "I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me."

Matthew 23:39

Hosea 6:1: “Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.“

Zechariah 12:10: “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn"

Some believe Zech 12:10 has been completely fulfilled. I only see a partial fulfillment. Jesus was pierced at the crucifixion. But the rest will be fulfilled at the second coming.
