Hello. I would like your thoughts on whether personal faith in Jesus the only way to heaven. Whilst John 14:6 says 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me', Romans 1:20 says 'For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.' So what of those who don't put their faith in Christ but believe in God (possibly the wrong god). Ofc, Christ is God, but He differentiates himself from the Father. I hope I have made myself understood.
One must personally believe the LORD ( and Jesus is LORD ) and personally trust in the Atonement Jesus secured on the cross pays the penalty for all of ones sins..

Question: What other types of Faith can exist other then personal faith??

I would be interested if anyone could come up with any other type of faith?

Well,, I have to disagree in part, there is one thing which is not of God.
He that commits sin is of the devil; 1 John 3:8

Humm, I have to disagree in whole, there are two things which are not of God.

A time to be born, and a time to die; Ecc; 3:2
In response: 1.) What is sin? If you know the answer, that refutes your claim it is not of God.
2.)The Book of Deuteronomy chapter 32
“‘See now that I, even I, am he,
and there is no god beside me;
I kill and I make alive;
I wound and I heal;

and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. "

Isaiah chapter 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things.

They need to repent, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

Everyone believes in God or a Supreme Being (other than Atheists and Atheistic Communists). Even the demons believe that God is real, and they tremble because judgment is reserved for them. But that does not save them.

I used to wonder about that too. "Won't all good people go to Heaven?", I asked. As I studied the Bible more, I realized that Christianity is all about Jesus and how He died on the Cross to make it possible for us to go to Heaven. Being good is not enough. It is only through believing and trusting in the blood of Jesus that we can be made clean enough to go to Heaven. An old hymn goes like this:

Are you washed
in the blood?
In the soul cleansing blood
of the Lamb (Jesus)?

Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed
in the blood
of the Lamb?

Only through the blood of Jesus. And yes, it really is possible to have a personal relationship with Jesus. He wants us to talk to Him and He wants to talk to us. God bless you, dear.

It made me feel arrogant and exclusive, and I wondered if I was wrong,
This is how Satan works. He makes us feel bad about ourselves and discourages us.

1 Peter 5
5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
5:11 To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I think a lot of today's Christians do not understand the part of God that is the Father plays in our salvation. Some even say that God has to tell them in the new testament, after Christ was born as a human before His directions need to be followed, it is only under the new covenant.

It is God in the form of the Father who gives salvation, God as Christ who pays for our sins. It has always been so. It was not the blood of animals that gave salvation before Christ, it was Christ in eternal time, animal blood was a symbol of that. As Romans 1:20 says 'For since the creation of the world----.

God gave us the Torah (first five books of scripture) so we can know Him, Christ is in the Torah. To fully understand the whole of God we must understand the Torah. It has the Laws of Moses that are the fleshly customs that guided people to the spirit but were not the spirit, these are included in Torah and the Holy Spirit replaces them now. We are to understand that.

The father of lies is the devil, since the God I know and have heard is a God of truth then if one knows what sin is, then it would come by the knowledge of the law since whosoever sins also transgresses the law.

Isaiah chapter 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things.
So you are a Jehovah Witness, interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I like what NF "oh lord" in a song said "I look around at this world we walk on, It's a smack in the face, don't ever tell me there's no God
And if there isn't then what are we here for? And what are y'all doing down there? I don't know, Lord " :)

We know ..or should that there is no salvation for the fallen angels. Think about that. They walked with GOD. Knew Him in all His glory and power. And walked away. There is nothing to bring them back to. So no salvation. Now take man. All man knows is? Yeah this world.. doubt worry fear false Gods. Lets make this real. Take all here. Raise your hand if you KNOW what you believe is the truth. JW, Mormon. Catholic, Baptist to Word of Faith. Then India, China.. on and on. And then amp it up if you never had a real personal encounter with Christ.

I believe we all get a choice. I asked Him once when I was like 13 or so. I said how can you send all these people to hell? A note.. I do NOT always get a answer right back.. OH oh I pray I did. But that time I did. He said "for God so loved the world. Everyone gets a choice". He walked this earth for 40 days after He ROSE AMEN! And not once did He hit the streets preaching shouting crying out. Not once. Were not all those people that died around Him during that 40 days ..are not lost if they don't believe? I look at all this and .. something is missing. There is so much more to this "salvation" that we don't see. And that is with "JESUS is the ONLY way to the Father.

Lol what do I know. I hold to this about those that don't know.. doubt or confused. Jesus said "if you were blind you would have no sin. You say you see your sin remains". Man did many things before the commandments and the law. So how many are blind? Kind of hard to hold them to what some MAN said is the real truth.

I truly know Jesus is real. This is why I tell anyone.. ask Him. Call on all the so called gods. Only one will ever answer. They key is ..you have to ask from your heart. Happy mad.. its ok. But just ask. HE WILL SHOW UP! He will every time answer. I believe.. it is far easier to be saved than lost. Why you ask? Its simple.. MAN tells me more will be lost. :)

I pray I shine every moment of this walk.. so all see HIM.. we really need to share more.. I do

The Bible says that creation testifies of a God and of His attributes which one of them is love for He provided food, and the means to make clothing and shelter, so the world is without excuse, and testifies of the 2 greatest laws love God and love people which is what a Christian goes by in order to be saved.

Which love works no ill towards their neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

And out of faith, hope, and charity, love in action, charity is the greatest.

And without love you are nothing, and have erred from the faith, and your faith is dead, and the love of God does not dwell in you.

So love is greater than faith, no love, no faith.

The Bible says that the people that have not heard the word of God the law is written in their heart, and their conscience also bearing witness.

We have to have faith in Jesus to be saved but God is a fair God and will not condemn those that have not heard the word of God.

Since creation testifies of a higher power and testifies of love God and love people then people can be saved if they abide by that for if they believed in a higher power who is love, and loves people, and they love this higher power and people, and did not offend them and asked God for forgiveness if anything is amiss they should be saved.

They cannot dwell with Jesus right now for they do not know Him, and do not know He is the Savior, but after the millennial reign of Christ when the dead rise to be judged they can join the saints then.

In the Old Testament before the Old Covenant was in affect there was people that were right with God when the word of God was not given yet to know of the coming Savior and the truth, which there was Enoch, Job, and Noah that were all righteous men that will be saved.

I read the Bible. You don't know that scripture and that is why your point #2 was wrong from the start.

The Blood of Jesus is the only way.
Christians need a deeper understanding of the blood of Jesus. They need to understand how that applied to people who knew God before Jesus was crucified as a man and paid for our sins in eternal time, and how this was used to give salvation then. When people think it was only after this that man could be saved they get a misperception of the Lord, thinking the Father is different from Christ.

Many people believe in a god, they just don't understand the true God so what they believe in is an idol. It is important to know the true God. God is God the Father and God the Son.

Jesus is the Word of God. If we study Hebrew then we will get to know Jesus better in how He is expressed.

Do you mean the language of Hebrew? If you do, I fully agree, especially the Hebrew as the writers of God's inspiration understood that language in ancient times. Spiritual understanding and spiritual understanding is so different and ancient Hebrew was able to express the life of the spirit better. It is as if that language was given to man before any other and the ones that came after was limited to man's fleshly understanding.

We live under a new and better way now. A man does not need to know how to read in order to go to heaven. Come, just as you are, in a spirit of humble surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. God can write the Law into men's hearts in any way He so chooses.

Romans 2
2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another.
2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Yes. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Even the Old Testament saints knew Jesus. Look what Jesus said of Abraham:

John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Believing in Christ for salvation will lead to salvation. But believing in false gods for this salvation will lead to damnation. Only God has the power to save.

Romans keeps coming up. Is also mentioned as the high peak of the bible in the book I'm currently reading, I will go back to it, and I'm sure I will have a richer understanding after all the comments here. Thank you all :)

Hello Lafftur, thanks for your reply. I posted this question as the other day I came across someone who has been a dedicated Christian far longer than me, and he said that it's possible that some who have goodness in their hearts will go to heaven apart from Jesus. It made me feel arrogant and exclusive, and I wondered if I was wrong, and I wanted some insight from other Christians. So yes, I'm asking if Jesus Christ IS the only way :)
Jesus is the only way. The Bible states that emphatically. And the Bible also tells us that good works or being a good person does not gain us heaven. Your friend is very mistaken. The only way is to accept Christ as your Savior. And yes, that is exclusive, because God is a jealous God. There are no others. Only through the blood of Jesus.

And who gave the law?
Most people believe the law was given through Moses. So we have 2,000 years of lawlessness where people did what seemed right in their own eyes. Then we have 2,000 under the law and 2,000 in the age of Grace. Some people believe the law goes back to Abraham, some believe the law goes back to Adam. They talk about the Oral tradition.
