Many will be DECIEVED in the last days wherein they believe a LIE and are damned!
Salvation was a one time purchase made of God by His son Jesus!
It is freely given to whosoever WILL!
You are delusional if you think it doesn't have to be maintained!
Do you pray?
Do you study
Do you witness?
MAINTENANCE!
Do you obey the commandments of Jesus to LOVE?
Again MAINTENANCE

By having FREE WILL at any time we can neglect, abuse ignore it, or refuse this precious gift,it is NOT FORCED!
There are many sins not of the body but if the mind and heart also such as stubborness, pride, arrogance, usefulness ect ect.....
IN reading this thread and yes I've read the whole thread many herein display such and will be so judged if repentance isn't done!

PLEASE put on HIS righteousness today and lay aside those things that separate one from God!

I think God can and does very rarely reveal to us the Holy Spirit in another ...it is a spirit to spirit connection.

Not sure if this is in the Bible though.. however it is not a judgement thing just a sense of discerning.

I would really like thoughts on this?
John....Nicodemus -->WE PERCEIVE that you are a teacher sent from God <<<<-by word and deed they (the believing pharisees) perceived......other examples like this in scripture!

Just because God shows us in 1 Cor 9:23-27 and other places that we can lose our salvation does not mean that we are not saved by grace.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
(Eph 2:8-10 KJV)
I respectfully argue that the word “incorruptible” in 1 Corinthians 9:25 means we cannot lose our salvation.

1 Corinthians 9:25 (HCSB)
25 Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away.

I agree with you, WE CANNOT LOSE OUR SALVATION. The verse in 9:23, NEVER was intended to Refer to SALVATION. Like I explained to him, it is talking about Benefits and Blessings of Salvation, NOT SALVATION ITSELF. In other words for instant, Spiritual Growth from Spiritual Infancy to Spiritual Maturity, is one of the BLESSING. We can if be backslide enough, lose our Spiritual Growth, all the way back to Spiritual Infancy. BUT NEVER TO LOSING SALVATION.

It sounds like one of the spiritual gifts "discerning of the spirits" (1 Cor 12:10). All believers have a certain amount of discernment, but this one's a gift of the HS. And one of the facets is being able to "see" the "Holy Spirit glow" in other believers, as you mention.

Thank you ... I have had this experience of discernment several times.
The first time was with the person who led me to the Jesus.

I respectfully argue that the word “incorruptible” in 1 Corinthians 9:25 means we cannot lose our salvation.
We have to finish the race to obtain.
Please take another look at the text.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly (not aimlessly, i.e. not as one who has no fixed goal) ; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
(1Co 9:24-27 KJV)

God says through Paul in verse 24 RUN that you MAY obtain. Then in verse 25 he says in respect running in a race that they strive for mastery and in this striving they are temperate in all things TO OBTAIN. Then Paul through the Spirit says that is how he runs, by saying "I therefor run".

How does he run? He Strives for mastery in that he is temperate in all things TO OBTAIN the Incorruptible Crown. Not as uncertainly (not aimlessly, i.e. not as one who has no fixed goal) ; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. NOT LIKE THAT BUT, I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway, disqualified, and rejected as to not receive the Incorruptible Crown.

No it would be the Gospel of Christ in it's entirety, eternity in Heaven with the Father and His Christ not just a benefit of the Gospel. We know that it is the Gospel of Christ because he mentions the Gospel through the Spirit in previous text. Verses 12 and 18 respectively.

We also know that it is something that has not been obtained yet. That Paul himself was waiting to to receive this Incorruptible Crown.

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!
New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Amen! That's how we come to Him, but having come, we are changed into new creations. Therefore Christ Jesus said, "A time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out - those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. I can do nothing on My own initiative. I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me."

Nothing on His own initiative! And all who abide in Him MUST walk as He did, 1 Jn.2:6. Under His authority we are changed from soulish to spiritual. "Many are called but few are chosen" is true. Those "branches" that don't abide in Him - we know what happens to them. "When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?" He knew He'd find lots of church buildings, and hundreds of millions of Christians, but how many disciples who deny themselves and say "no" to their souls: what they want, think and feel?

As it is written, "In Him we live and move and have our being." We repented, we were baptized, we were changed. And according to the 4 Gospels, and many other places, He came to baptize us with the Holy Spirit. Yes, the Kingdom of God is in the Holy Spirit. As God's sons, we are led by His Spirit today. We ALL began living by the sinful nature, but in His mercy and by His grace, He took us out of "Egypt" and now we move when the pillar of fire moves. And we have a land of promises to take.

A couple million came out but only 2 went in - Joshua and Caleb; Jesus and his dog, as it were. The rest fell in the desert, a warning for us, 1 Cor. 10.

It's so freeing to have no doctrine but to be filled with God's Word. To read God's Word without prejudice and just accept what it says from beginning to end. Without holiness, none of us will see Him. And it's not the magic kingdom, we have to go on to perfection as it is written. Jesus commanded perfection and He has shown us the Way. His disciples are called the people of the Way twice as many times as they are Christians in the Bible. That would help their thinking a lot to change titles. We see "the Way" in Isaiah 35 and so many other places in the Scriptures.

"Upon thee do I wait all the day." He acts on behalf of those who wait for Him, Is. 64:4, on behalf of those who allow Him to have the initiative, who accept Him as not only Savior but Lord. It's been said that if he's not Lord of all, He's not Lord at all. Jesus Christ is Lord. And he is King of kings. We are to be a kingdom of priests.

So you are done with 1 cor 9 then. Why go to Romans when we are looking at 1 cor. Nothing in Romans contradicts 1 cor.

What in Romans do you want me to look at. This....
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Have a nice evening.
Again you just deny with no real response

Deal with what Paul writes and I have quoted from Romans directly.

When you say finish the race do you mean performing works or not losing faith?

I think this verse, means GOD expects me to put a Divisive person on the IGNORE List on the first Offense after the second warning.

Now I told you what we OSAS Born Again Christians, actually believe, repeatedly.

Here is the word that implies Benefits or Blessings.

QUOTE: 9:23
. . .
Fellow partaker
(synkoinōnos) refers to joint participation, joint sharing. The idea here is that Paul wanted everyone else to be a fellow partaker with him in the benefits and blessing of the gospel. He wanted them to be with him in the family of God.

MacArthur New Testament Commentary, The - MacArthur New Testament Commentary – 1 Corinthians. -END QUOTE.

You can consider this your FIRST WARNING:

Titus 3:10-11 (NIV)
10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.
11 You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Acts 20:29-31 (HCSB)
29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 And men will rise up from your own number with deviant doctrines to lure the disciples into following them.
31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears.
