Huh that is comical look at your post 342 on this page above and that was just a hour ago you ok?
What are you getting at?
The sun won't keep going down every night?
The moon doesn't record the passing of time?
Have you ever heard of Stonehenge?
Prehistoric man used the heavenly bodies to keep a calendar. They used it for agriculture. They knew when to plant crops so they could harvest in the correct season. It still works. The sun still knows when to go down.
Well everyone wants to be a stickler about 6 24hr days, scripture says the sun knows when to set and not the earth knows when to rotate and the moon is for seasons. you can’t alter language of the Bible.
Psalm 104
19He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows when to set.
No where in scripture says the earth rotates
we see things totally differentIt is more amazing to know God who is timeless is patient with his creation. That God fine tuned everything and sustained everything throughout time. Everything was goal directed to the elements to create life. Then everything around us is perfectly set for the human to have all it needs. Just as the magnitude of space billions of light years in its space. God within a speck of it decided to fine tune a solar system with one planet that could support life. The time within the light years is unimaginable but God is ever present which to me is amazing.
No sir it is indeed in context we understand the 7th day is still today. No evening to mark the era. That is obvious and Hebrews 4 makes it even more obvious. Explain why their was no evening?

While hyperbole is definitely a literary device used in Semitic writing styles- and indeed in the Semitic languages of today.
I don't agree that you can file the creation account of Genesis away into that category. It follows the Hebraic style for relaying an account and repeating the same story with more detail. This is the method employed in much of the Biblical record. When one statement is repeated again and again, you are expected to take it seriously. 'There was evening and there was morning.'
I don't think this is a story the Hebrews were making up to tell their children. This is a record from the creator himself of HIS work.
We are given a step by step account from the creator through the prophet. An account that will hold up in the heavenly court of law.
"Let God be true and every man a liar."
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7 (NKJV)
You don't have to be a flat-earther to believe the Genesis record.
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. Job 26:7
How long did it take man to discover that was true?
When I walk the beautiful halls of the colleges of Cambridge University, I am reminded that modern Science began with men of faith. Like Isaac Newton. The same university in my lifetime produced an arrogant man with an atheist theory of "everything".
Much of secular science for the last 50 years has followed the political fashion of our time and deteriorated into atheistic "Scientism" rather than science. People who have rejected God have set the narrative. People who would build Babylon. They openly ridicule our God.
It's unwise to follow the blind into a pit because they have manipulated the world-view of secular education. The enemy is a liar and a clever one.
Here is my post word for word.
WHAT ARE YOU GETTING AT? I asked. Because you were calling the logic of scripture to question.
This is what you posted:

Never caught that but I agree that is something to think about.
This sentence makes no sense.Where you getting at you said you didn’t say that, stop twisting
Man please ha. That's easy in my opinion. To be that meticulous and precise over a timescale that I cannot even comprehend is amazing. Plus a God that creates from nothing. The Big Bang theory is the best evidence outside of scripture for God. We can view the aftermath of light and radiation with a few seconds after creation. We know space, time, and matter came into existence at the same time. Automatically making the cause a spaceless, timeless, and immaterial being. We see the cooling affect within the radiation waves. We see the universe expanding which is also scripture. All of this also provides us with the knowledge that the universe had a beginning but is also dying. Everything has a lifespan. This is evident and this provides us with a image to show just how powerful Gof is. God created from nothing everything we see and even the farthest reaches of the universe we cannot see. The greatest miracle of all we have evidence for. And if God can create the universe from nothing then Jesus being resurrected is easy compared to that.we see things totally different
I see god created everything we see in 6 daysm if he can do that he can do anything I need or take care of any problem I have
in your view god is not as powerful. And maybe I should fear because it took him millions maybe billions of years to make earth readynfor
Man. He may not have time to take care of My problem
This sentence makes no sense.
I didn't say it was a made up story. As evident in my post the scriptures often use the world to indicate the known world or the world to a individuals perspective.
Agree to disagree which is fine. God made himself evident within creation and it is a wonderful thing with each discovery proclaims the power and awesomeness of God.
How do view the creation account?yea why didn’t that verse say in the days if it was 6 days but it says in the day

My God is the most powerful but also such a loving and caring God to meticulously and perfectly prepared for my life and all of mankind. We could of easily been like Venus or Mars.
What are the problems it poses? Creation is evident of God. They shouldn't contradict each other. But agree there is bad science but also good science. It is all on how each person views the evidence. This has been Hugh Ross's progressive creationist line for about 30 years.
Many Christians have adopted this view in order to bring the Bible into harmony with the consensus of contemporary scientific opinion.
It poses too many problems for me.
How do view the creation account?
