Alot of times, UPS and Fed-Up misdeliver packages, or even just put them wherever they feel like leaving them.. But there are also alot of people who go around skanking packages off other people's porches..

Especially around the holidays..
They dont leave packages outside your door here. If your not home they leave a note at the door to collect it.

UPS does that here, but Fed Up does not. Many people don't know this, but Fed Up hires people to drive and deliver packages. I'm talking normal people off the street who are NOT FE employees..

Strangely I've even had packages delivered by U-Haul.. LOL

Fed-UP? People who steal packages off porches (especially around the holidays) are called PORCH PIRATES.

Yeah I've had to "steal" my own packages off other people's porches before..
My packages sometimes end up on the porch of apt. #3 here. How they get 3 from #22 is beyond me.. lol.. So when the packages didn't arrive, I went hunting for them and sure enough, they were on #3's porch. Of course, I checked to make sure it WAS mine before I took it..

I've had to retrieve packages delivered to a wrong address and re-deliver them to the correct address. Usually it's a newbie who mistakenly delivered the package to the right street number, but the wrong street name on my day off.

Changing the subject from the mail to the phone. My sisiter moved houses and rang the phone company asking why she had not received a bill for six months or so. They said because that phone is not connected. She said I am ringing on that phone landline now. They said impossible the computer said that phone is not connected :LOL:

Sadly, it happens. :( People who have been ordering packages from China have been experiencing long waits.
we did MONTHS ago.... like before Thanksgiving, finally shows up yesterday and wasn't even the right cord (go figure huh?) thankfully, only spent a few bucks on it and ebay had it refunded a while back.......

We ordered the boys bunk bed from target and it was delivered by someone in a u-haul.......
one guy DRAGGING a HUGE TEAM LIFT box off the truck and up our long drive, saw me coming from the back yard, left it near the front porch and ran off, jumped back in the uhaul and speed away.......
it's a good thing the manufacture really padded the inside of the box and protected the pieces cuz the bottom of the box that was dragged was shredded to bits.

we went to a burger place last weekend, a little over an hour away, so it's one of those "we don't get to go to often but when we do it's a treat" places.

BIG SIGN on door said "system down CASH ONLY" and all the registers had it posted as well.
I guess their computer system was down/offline and they couldn't process cards......
we almost always carry some cash with us, so it was no big deal, but sitting there facing the window, I lost count of how many people came to the door saw the sign and walked away, even funnier (or sadder depending on how you look at it) was the number of people who got up to order, and either didn't see or read the signs (AGAIN) and even after the cashiers said it and pointed to the signs people were STILL pulling out their cards

made for a good discussion with the kids about why we keep a little cash on hand but also made for good discussion about how life could/would be affected in a cashless society (which is what all these tap here, scan this, pay from your phone systems are slowly trying to set up.......) when those crash then how will things be paid for?????
