Leviticus 21:10-11 KJV - And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;
Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

Mark 14:63 KJV - Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

The king's scribes were summoned at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day. And an edict was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded concerning the Jews, to the satraps and the governors and the officials of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, 127 provinces, to each province in its own script and to each people in its own language, and also to the Jews in their script and their language.

In the New Testament we know that Jesus was sacrificed for us/our sins. This is because God loves us (John 3:16).

In the Old Testament, which story is that of similar being someone was going to be sacrificed and what is the significance of this?

(Open to all interpretations).

Correct... and what do you think the significance is?
The significance is: God provided the lamb, a shadowing of the sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God for the forgiveness of sin, which some believe (as do I) took place on the very same mountain.

Yesss! ☺️ And also, the story with Abraham was a picture of God sacrificing his one and only Son - in that, Jesus was ultimately sacrificed for us because of God’s love for us. Just as the ram was provided, so too was Jesus provided as the living sacrifice. Good work @CharliRenee and @Magenta ☺️🙌🏽

I think that is outside our Bible's purview. Legend says they were Magi (Persian soothsayers).
Actually you’re right, there’s nothing in the Bible about their credentials, but I remember reading a couple of articles that mentioned they were highly skilled astronomers who travelled from far foreign lands 👍🏽

Change the question?.... in the Bible it talks about a “rider on a white horse”. Which book is this found in and who wrote it?

It was in Revelation written by John.

Question: What was the reason Joseph, Jesus' father, did not go to Jerusalem on his return from Egypt? :unsure:

Wasn’t that because an angel instructed him not to return to that route as Herods men were out to find Jesus and kill him?

Yes, not his men but his son: Matt. 2:22 "But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:" Archelaus - son of Herod the Great.

You ask the next question, I am going to bed. Goodnight.

Question: what is the book in the centre of the Bible?
My big Bible has 1084 pages of scripture and the center (American spelling) falls at about Psalm 100.

Question: Without looking it up how many sons did Rachel give to Jacob (Israel). :cool:

Two. Joseph and Benjamin.

The bible records much history, including tales of romance and action. A princess was in love with a poor but valiant warrior. What inexpensive but obnoxious bride-price did the hero pay to his father-in-law to marry the girl? (Bonus question: Why on Earth would did the father-in-law request the unpleasant and unsightly gift?)

Saul requested that David deliver 100 foreskins from the Philistines to marry his daughter Michal.

Michal's sister was named Merab, but at that time, Saul's hadn't specified a number of foreskins to trade her for, and apparently felt at liberty to marry her to another.

1 Samuel 18:19 But it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, that she was given unto Adriel the Meholathite to wife.

What didst King David unto the Moabites?

a) He issued them a stern warning, together with an amusing anecdote highlighting the shortcomings of their king.
b) He gave each man a slap on the wrist and a fine of one piece of silver, but basically let them go.
c) He armed them, loaded them into barrels atop a high mountain, then rolled them down the slope into the tents of an unsuspecting Philistine encampment in the valley below.
d) He measured them with a line, casting them to the ground, putting two lengths to death and keeping one length alive.
e) He and a ragtag band of Israelite volunteers from one of his wife's Torah study groups converted them all to Judaism in a single day, before sending them back to Moab to preach the law of Moses to unbelievers.
