Some shows do bring on nostalgia. I do collect some shows so I can re-watch whenever and watch some with my dad or brother. Don’t really watch the new shows anymore (a few eps of maybe 2 series most recently, one of which ended already, that I can think of and that was last year so nothing currently). Of the ones mentioned so far, I used to watch I Dream of Jeannie, Friends, Family Matters, Full House, Fresh Prince, Goosebumps (that used to be my favorite book series in elementary and I did watch some eps). Can’t remember if I saw Are You Afraid of the Dark or not but the title sounds familiar so probably.
I never had cable tv, so I only saw the Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network shows when we went on vacation at my relatives’ houses. I used to love The Powerpuff Girls. Most of my cartoons were on Saturday mornings and the most memorable apart from Winnie the Pooh and Animaniacs I think was Recess. I loved Recess. A little younger and I remember looking forward to Arthur. Some non-cartoon nostalgic shows I used to watch include Sister Sister, Boy Meets World, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, Malcolm in the Middle, and The Nanny. I’m sure there are a ton more, but those are some that come to mind.
I also grew up in the 90s, but I also like discovering new “old” shows. Some of my favorite ones include Bonanza, The Big Valley, The Partridge Family, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (the show, which is very different from the movie), Little House on the Praire, Charles in Charge, and the 1980s MacGyver (I will never watch the new one, that is not the true MacGyver lol).
